***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

The winner of this week’s giveaway can literally make that request. Because Swedish-born Virginia-based artist Erica Eriksdotter is giving away a commissioned painting worth up to $350. That’s right everyone, put on your fancy pants because soon you could be telling your friends smugly “oh yeah, that beautiful painting over there? I commissioned it.”

Eriksdotter Grey Petals

We really like the color in all of Erica’s work, and we love that our winner will be able to guide the color and design of their custom work to fit their home perfectly. You can even pick the best size for your space (from a 12 x 9″ up to 16 x 20″). Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A commissioned painting from Studio Eriksdotter worth up to $350
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “PAINT ME A PICTURE!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about your favorite piece of one-of-a-kind artwork that you currently own. Maybe it’s a finger painting done by a kid in your life? Something you got on etsy? Or a drawing that you sketched yourself to fill some blank space?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 24th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States, Canada and Europe!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off of anything from Studio Eriksdotter through Dec 9th. Use the code YOUNGHOUSELOVE for any stationery purchase in her Etsy shop or you can contact her directly for art inquiries.

And our very lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Ali Moore. Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Studio Eriksdotter.

My favorite original art piece is a painting my son made me when he was 3. I framed it and hung it in my master bedroom where I can see it every day. He is 13 now. Wow, time sure flies!

    “Paint me a picture!”

My favorite piece of art that I currently own would have to be a photo my mom gave me of a gerber daisy. Not only is it my favorite flower, but it was my wedding flowers and they hold a lot of significance.

I have a couple of paintings a friend of mine painted for me. My favorite is one she did for my HS graduation gift. It is a view of the sky looking up from the ground through the tops of trees. I love it.

    PAINT ME A PICTURE!

My favorite piece of original artwork I own is a photo I took in Hawaii right along the beach during sunset. I have it blown up into a 20×24 right by my desk at work. All it takes is one glance at the photo and all of my stress melts away. :)

PAINT ME A PICTURE! Please? My favorite artwork right now is a bundle of 1,000 paper cranes I folded out of brightly colored patterned origami paper for my husband’s aunt while she was undergoing treatment for lung cancer. She recently passed away, but somehow looking at them reminds me of the happy nuances of who she was. I like keeping them around because as I folded them I thought of her recovery or said a prayer. I like to think those happy vibes are still within them. Right now they’re strung up and hanging on a wreath holder, but I plan on either gluing them to a big square canvas or hanging them in some cat-friendly manner :)

I absolutely love art… I spend hours looking through etsy to not only marvel at all the talent but also to get inspired. 20×200 is fun too. My daughter and I love to dabble in acrylics… she has done some amazing pieces. I have to say my favorite is a triptych I did on canvas of a bird on a branch… it was a quick fix solution to fill a void over my couch.

My favorite art in my house right now is a picture collage that we just started. Right now, there are photographs from the San Antonio Missions that my husband took and photographs of scenery of the city where my husband and I met and fell in love that my friend took. Some are black and white and some are color and I just love it!
