Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners.     Happy Valentine’s Day!

    As we would have liked to have spent our last childless (I am due with our first baby in April) V-day together, I had to go to my American Writers I class and take a test on Edgar Allan Poe. Being 31 weeks pregnant, I was so tired when I got home from class at 10pm, I went straight to bed! I did rush home from work, before class, and make us steak & baked potatoes – but that is as good as it got!

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

    We celebrated by getting take-out from one of our favorite Italian hole-in-the-walls and ate at home with our pooch and 19-day-old daughter. When I expressed a bit of shame for still being in my pjs while my hubby looked all debonair in his work clothes, he bounded upstairs to change into his pjs, too. Another reason why I love that man.

    Happy (belated) Valentine’s Day!!!! Just saw this post after a crazy work day on the 14th. Me and my other half spent last night cooking dinner and watching the BAFTA’s (UK’s version of the Oscars), plus talking about our current home improvements. Three of our favourite things!! :) Love was in the air just by chilling out together. xx

    Happy Valentines Day–

    I always find Valentines Day to be quite intriguing. Love should be celebrated everyday of the year as opposed to one day in the middle of February. It is quite sad how love has turned into a Hallmark opportunity.

    Not to mention the holiday adds stress to pretty much everyone. The single people are reminded of their loneliness while those in relationships have a huge burden of pleasing their loved ones–in a way that will forever symbolize their relationship.

    But thats it for the rant. On Valentines Day I was celebrating it with myself. Not because I am single, which I am not, but rather because I find the holiday to be disturbing. Ultimately I wound up sharing the day with my children (at work) and enjoying their sugar induced celebrations. Made it home in record time in order to talk with a friend that I had lost contact with and the conversation was bittersweet. In the end I went to bed with a migraine. Just another day :)

    HAPPY (one day after) VALENTINES DAY!!

    I am still eating candy from a package sent by my family last week. My fiance decorated my work table with hand wrapped books last night and we ate homemade chicken soup together while admiring the Spanish rain.

    Celebrated with a teething baby, prep for my 7yo’s bday (today!), and my parents in town. Not exactly romantic but we made it fun. Well, minus the teething. Not fun ;)

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

    I spent the day at the dentist office. I had to get a cavity filled and a fluoride treatment, meaning I couldn’t eat until late at night. My husband picked up some takeout and we had dinner at home. Not how I planned to spend our first Valentine’s day as a married couple.

    HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!
    I celebrated with my boyfriend and my puppy Bella. He made me dinner (meaning picked up some food at the local deli) , and gave me flowers. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and strawberry shortcake and it was so nice to stay in and just be together.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!
    We celebrated last night by sharing our valentines around the dinner table- each night from Feb 1 to Feb 14 we write love notes during dinner to a family member and put them in valentine bags. Last night we dumped our bags out and read our valentines to the family while eating a super sweet Valentine dessert! It is great fun for our 5 and 7 year olds and a great family tradition!
