Fab Freebie: Oooh, Shiny!

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.

Lisa Leonard Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards any purchase at Lisa Leonard Designs.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how (and with whom) you’re celebrating today. Something romantic with your true love? A quiet evening in with a good book and some hot cocoa? A romantic night with your kitty or pooch? Feel free to comment with “Crappy Valentine’s Day!” and tell us why this holiday just ain’t your cup of tea if that’s the case.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has selected three people to dish out some bling to and they are… Megan (whose husband made her pizza for V-Day), Tera (who was spending the evening at a concert with her husband) and Kyle (who was doing dinner with her husband… after doing some laundry first). Congrats ladies!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Lisa Leonard Designs.

Happy Valentine’s Day! The celebrations started on Friday – my husband and I have been on a lovely mini-break, plenty of bubbly, chocolate and good food. Can’t ask for me.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

i’m spending (well spent:) ) my valentine’s day with my boyfriend & his lovely mom. she recently lost her husband of 38 years. since they had their first date 41 years ago(!) on valentine’s day, it was obviously going to be a difficult day. we decided to keep the reservations they had made & went to the restaurant where they were planning to have their dinner date…their favorite diner just down the street from their home.

how many people can say they have been with the same person for that many years?! such an awesome display of commitment and love. i can only hope 40ish years from now i can look back and think how this was only the beginning :)

(oops, didn’t realize i was going to write a book!!!)

Hope I’m not the only one, “Crappy Valentine’s Day.”

We didn’t even remember it was yesterday until we heard it on the morning news. My husband peeked around the corner and said, “oh yeah, happy valentine’s day!”

Spending the night in with my husband. Instead of braving the crowds and going out to eat, we’re picking up some dinner from the Fresh Market and watching the Bachelor (total guilty pleasure).

Happy Valentine’s Day! My sweetie and I are in the process of buying our first home so we spent the evening filling out loan paperwork, talking about decorating (mostly me), looking for adoptable dogs online(mostly him), and envisioning all our new homeowner dreams.

“CRAPPY VaLeNtInE’s DaY!!!” Usually, I love Valentine’s Day…the candy, the flowers, the romance in the air…!!!
But this year it’s different. We had to finally take the plunge and give up our little Lando rescue dog.

We too, are DIY renovators, and unfortunately while our beloved canine friend was the best-ever when we were home (even brining us a wrench or two during projects), he suffered from severe separation anxiety. This caused him to do more harm to most of our handywork while we were away (or he just wanted to put his own creative spin on things, I’m still trying to decide – jk).

So while, everyone is basking in the love-filled air, we are devastated and shedding some tears. Long story short, this is definitely a “Crappy Valentine’s Day”!
