Fab Freebie: Oooh, Shiny!

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.

Lisa Leonard Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards any purchase at Lisa Leonard Designs.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how (and with whom) you’re celebrating today. Something romantic with your true love? A quiet evening in with a good book and some hot cocoa? A romantic night with your kitty or pooch? Feel free to comment with “Crappy Valentine’s Day!” and tell us why this holiday just ain’t your cup of tea if that’s the case.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has selected three people to dish out some bling to and they are… Megan (whose husband made her pizza for V-Day), Tera (who was spending the evening at a concert with her husband) and Kyle (who was doing dinner with her husband… after doing some laundry first). Congrats ladies!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Lisa Leonard Designs.

    Happy Valentines Day!

    (Belated)

My husband and I actually don’t really celebrate valentines day. It’s become too commercialized for our tastes. We decided to celebrate anti-valentines day by (jokingly) yelling at each other whenever we were together. It was actually really amusing and we really just laughed the whole time.

    HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

My husband doesn’t believe in Valentine’s Day so we don’t celebrate it. :( But I was able to spend the evening with my family and that always makes for a wonderful day (holiday or not).

Our plans have been the same for the last 7 years…I make home made mozzarella sticks and marinara and a big salad. It started out just me and my boyfriend (now husband) and now, 7 years later it’s me, my husband, 2.5 year old daughter and 8 month old son! Time flies!!!

    HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!
I celebrated with my Husband, Steve, at the macaroni grille and then we walked around downtown Portland, ME. We got our wedding rings cleaned and I had fun trying on jewelry while Steve got ideas for the future. We ended our date by sharing some coffee at Starbucks. We also celebrated in the evening, snuggling on the couch with our little man. :)

Happy Valentine’s Day! My husband and I spent our V-Day realizing that the kiddos are growing up… My 2nd year old was told that she is pretty by a boy in her class and my Kindergartener marched down the street to tell the neighbor girl his feelings (but… chickened out). We were a big ball of love yesterday and I loved every moment of it.

“HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! – spending the evening with J and it will be number 14 for us so will skip the dinner out and make homemade pasta (he operates the pasta roller) with a veg medley of butternut squash, asparagus and swiss chard, flounder in white wine and fresh fruit to end it. Probably drag the coffee table in front of the fire and light some candles!

Spending the day with my husband and 20 month old son. We’ve recently moved overseas and are still getting to know our new “home” so we are getting Thai food (someone that we loved eating back in the states), renting a movie and talking about all of the amazing adventures we’ve already had and will have while abroad. Happy V-day everyone!
