Fab Freebie: Oooh, Shiny!

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Thanks to V-Day, we’re straying from our usual home improvement & decor related prizes in favor of some customized and sentimental jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. Lisa brings a certain DIY spirit to her necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other body bling – hand cutting, polishing, and assembling each piece carefully for that “made with love” feeling. She actually helped us celebrate V-day last year by giving away $100 gift cards to two winners – and this year she’s raising the stakes and giving away THREE benjamins worth of her meaningful designs to three random lucky winners. Happy Valentine’s Day indeed.

Lisa Leonard Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards any purchase at Lisa Leonard Designs.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how (and with whom) you’re celebrating today. Something romantic with your true love? A quiet evening in with a good book and some hot cocoa? A romantic night with your kitty or pooch? Feel free to comment with “Crappy Valentine’s Day!” and tell us why this holiday just ain’t your cup of tea if that’s the case.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 16th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has selected three people to dish out some bling to and they are… Megan (whose husband made her pizza for V-Day), Tera (who was spending the evening at a concert with her husband) and Kyle (who was doing dinner with her husband… after doing some laundry first). Congrats ladies!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Lisa Leonard Designs.

Happy Valentines Day! We celebrated by attending a birthday party for our daughter’s 2 year old friend, Felix – and then coming home to relax as I’m currently in the last few weeks of a Boy-Girl Twin pregnancy! Ahhhh, feet up!

    HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
This was our 5th Valentine’s together, and we got our own traditions now :
We stay at home, have some champagne. He gives me flowers (pink and white tulips this year), and I make a photomontage of nice photos of us from the last 12 months, and places we’ve been.
    Nice and simple!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! To those young and old, in love and out of it!
My student made my day, (I teach seniors so to receive a gift is unheard of) by carving me a heart shaped necklace out of soapstone in his art class. It’s the best piece of jewelry that I now own, and the card was a hallmark music one that brought tears to my eyes. The thought and time put into it, means more to me than any name brand. I wear it proudly and he has made me proud. I thought the day was going to be miserable because I am on my own, (side note I called my wedding off last Feb. 17th) so… sadness lingered, however joy triumphed overall.

As the day progressed I was paged to the office which always conjures up nerves when thinking you have to deal with the big boss, however it was to receive a beautiful production of flowers sent by…. my cats? The card reads “Love Always and Forever, Tillie and Goober”… I quickly put two and two together and realized that it was my mom who put care into this to ensure that my day was made. Feeling loved, special and truthfully happy I decided to treat myself to sushi and saki. It wasn’t so bad saying table for one. It won’t be this way forever, but for today and tomorrow it’s time to love me!

So love yourselves, partners, pets.. whoever. Smile at a stranger it just might make their day ;)

I don’t care much about it, but I didn’t know what my friend, who broke up with her boyfriend half a year ago, would do. I made her a card, another friend made har a cupcake. She was sad anyway. I went to see her in the evening.
Not so crappy for me, only for her.

    Happy Valentines Week?! :)

My better half made reservations for us at a new Cuban restaurant in DC…because I am Puerto Rican and the food is close enough to “home food” for me. The fact that he doesn’t particularly love Caribbean food made it even more special that he would take me there.

Wishing you all lots of love in 2011!

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

My boyfriend and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s because he doesn’t like it. And it isn’t as big a day here in Germany as it is in the States, so I don’t really mind. This year we spent it apart because my boyfriend was gone on a trip. But! Two days before Valentine’s I cut some Edam cheese and one of the wholes was shaped like a heart! I was sure it couldn’t be a coincidence ;), so I took a cheesy heart photo and e-mailed it to my boyfriend for Valentine’s.
