Random.org had a tough job of sifting through nearly 7,000 jewelry hungry ladies (and gentlemen!) but has selected two random winners as… Lisa S. (who, like many, always wears her wedding ring but never gets sick of it because her husband did a great job) and SJ (who also wears her wedding and engagement rings out everyday). Congrats!
Sherry here. I don’t usually write the giveaway posts, but we’re making an exception since I was the one who twisted John’s arm into this week’s giveaway. Instead of our usual DIY & decor-related prizes, this week we’re giving away some body decor that was DIYed (well, created) by two talented jewelry designers. Yup, we have two hundred dollars worth of sparkly, sparkly jewelry for ya (or for your mom/wife/sis/girlfriend/grandma if you’re a dude).
The bling comes from two designers that I couldn’t love more (nope, I didn’t get any swag to say that – I truly love their stuff). The first is Erin McDermott, a Charlotte-based designer who studied at both my and John’s alma maters (FIT in NYC and UVA here in Virginia) and has been featured in Real Simple. Here are some of my favorites things of hers:
And then there’s Towne & Reese, whose studio we crashed earlier this year. Not only do I love their stuff, but I love that they name their pieces after their friends’ children (Towne and Reese are the founders’ daughters’ names). And get this, Clara will actually have a piece named after her in their Spring collection. Do you know how excited that makes this geeky momma? Probably too excited. You bet I’m staking out their Facebook page for a sneak peek. Anyway here are some of my favorite things from their current collection:

OHHHH SHINY! So, i bought a toe ring at a surf store in 8th grade at Hilton Head Island. That was over 13 years ago. I put that sucker on my right toe and wear it every day. I can take it off, but it is rare. My toe has actually has a groove around the toe ring. My girlfriends said, “you arent really going to wear that down the aisle, are you?” when i got married 6 months ago… but, indeed I did!!! And, in fact, Erin McDermott did my jewelry and my bridesmaids jewelry for the wedding!!!

I used to wear my wedding rings every day, but I got some kind of nasty rash under them from wearing them so much and water getting behind them due to the fact that I wash my hands a million times a day with 2 young boys!

everyday I wear my wedding ring and a necklace with a Korean symbol on it that means friendship. I used to live in South Korea and met my best friend there while our husbands were serving in the military. We both have the same necklace, and it is definitely a treasure.

Oooh Shiny!! I always wear a silver bracelet that my mom gave me a skillion years ago. It screws into itself…I think it has some special name but I dont know what it is..and it has a gold ball in the center of it. I NEVER take it off, including when I go get a massage and the massuese tells me to take it off. It seems like they will not be able to perform the massage because of the 2 centimeters of silver on one wrist. Rediculous…Like that cell phone on the plane that is going to somehow derail the whole plane trip…lol.

OOOH SHINY? As of two days ago I wear a magnetic ankle bracelet and a magnetic bracelet. I was at a craft fair over the weekend and a vendor was selling these. My friend bought one for health reasons and I bought mine because I thought they looked pretty. However, the vendor said they helped increase blood flow; therefore, resulting in more energy! We’ll see.
