You know we love a deal. Especially around the holidays when it’s so easy to bleed money. Which is why we’re psyched to have two of our favorite discount stores, T.J. Maxx and Marshalls, here to help us kick off the whole holiday shopping scene by handing over two $50 gift cards that can be spent on gifts, festive seasonal decor, or whatever else tickles your fancy.

We’ve always loved snagging cheap finds for our house at both stores – like the nailhead trimmed ottoman in our bedroom (from T.J. Maxx) and just about every pillow in our den (from Marshalls).

    MAXX ME!

    On the top of my list is finishing out our garage-turned reclaimed living space! We are working on finishing up leveling out our driveway which meant we had to close off entry to the garage (our driveway was *extremely* steep..it needed some leveling out so we could actually park in it!). So the former garage is now another room off our basement – and now the only unfinished part of our basement.

    I’m most looking forward to giving presents to my little cousins … especially a cotton candy maker. It turns any hard candy into cotton candy!!

    MAXX ME!!! Love these stores. With one daughter’s wedding down (60 days ago), and the 2nd one 260 days away, I could use it on SO many things…OR, I could use it on myself! Who knows!

    MAXX ME!! my husband and i are dying for a cuisinart-14-cup-stainless steel-food processor (rolls off the tongue nicely :) we are avid foodies and that would be a Godsend in our kitchen arsenal. i’ve started making homemade cards with scrapbook paper, etc and everybody loves receiving my cards in the mail, so i will be trying to make little ribbon-wrapped packages of notecards for every holiday they can give out :)

    p.s. I LOVE THE TREE ART, BAKED GLASS PROJECT! so so creative :)

    I would really love to have a date night with my husband at Texas de Brazil. We have two kids under two, so a night out would be lovely.

    I’m excited about giving ANYthing to my daughter, as this is the first Christmas she’ll be able to really enjoy (she was only 10 months last year). I think we’ll be getting her a book and a fun film like Wall-E or Finding Nemo, but I’m mostly just excited to watch her open the gifts herself and be excited about it.

    Maxx Me! I’m actually most excited about giving my sister a rhinestone covered piggy bank. Strange, yes, but it looks really cool. As for me, I’d love a pair of Cole Haan ballet flats!

    I am excited to get some new adorable curtains for the family room and I am super excited to give my youngest son his Lego Harry Potter castle and my oldest son his I Pod Touch.

    MAXX ME!! MY girls and I have always been a fan of our local TJMAXX. Now the youngest has become a HUGE fan of Marshalls in the windy city. It would be a wonderful extra under the tree.

    MAXX ME!! Hmmm, for myself I am hoping for a flat screen TV that will fit in my small entertainment center. I am SO excited about giving my mom KNIVES! Her electric knife died last year and turkey carving this year was looking a little dangerous! She also needs (although she doesn’t know it yet) a Santoku knife. HOW is she living without one??!!

    Is something going on with the site? For the last several days, whenever I click on the “home” button, I keep getting this post but I am seeing on Facebook that you have updated since then. Weird!

      That’s crazy! No idea why that’s happening to you Jenny. We have actually posted quite a few times since this one. It sounds like your computer is having a caching issue (it’s not refreshing something? Or maybe you have bookmarked this post instead of our main site’s home page?). Maybe try restarting your computer or even unlugging/rebooting your modem? Hope it helps!

      Is anyone else having this issue? Whenever we click “home” (or the picture in our header), we’re taken to the most recent post.
