Maxx and Marshalls, here to help us kick off the whole holiday shopping scene by handing over two $50 gift cards that can be spent on gifts, festive seasonal decor, or whatever else tickles your fancy.
We’ve always loved snagging cheap finds for our house at both stores – like the nailhead trimmed ottoman in our bedroom (from T.J. Maxx) and just about every pillow in our den (from Marshalls).

TJ Maxx is such a great store. I love to look around for great deals there. This holiday season I would love to give handmade gifts. I’m working on some paintings and drawings right now. At the top of my list is an iPhone…if it would hurry up and come to Verizon! And I’m always excited to give gifts from Heifer International. They do amazing things for less fortunate people around the world, and I just love giving family members the gift of a llama or a trio of rabbits every year! I try to pair it with something that sort of relates to the animal–like last year I gave my brother a flock of bees from Heifer and wrapped up a jar of honey and a bar of honey soap with the print-out!

Not much on the top of my list, it was just my birthday on Friday and the boyfriend got me a very pretty piece of jewelry, so I’m not expecting much this year. I just demand that he write a nice card… we’re big on cards in my family.
I’m looking forward to getting creative and making something handmade for him this year. Or if all else fails I go to REI, spin in a circle and I’m sure he’ll be happy. :)
