Fab Freebie: Matchmaker, Matchmaker

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!

Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?

ArtDotComGiveaway

  • PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

    Match Me!

I’ve never tried to play matchmaker, and I’ve never let anyone play matchmaker with me. I think I would be entirely too awkward on a blind date!

Six years ago, my college roommate decided to fix me up with a guy from her Psych 101 class during our first semester. She must have been on to something–I married him last summer!

    Match me!

I am forever trying to set my ex-boyfriend up with someone. I just don’t think the right person exists in this town.

On a side note, I hate it when someone tries to set two people up just because they are both single. They need to have things in common beyond their marital state!

Match Me! I unintentionally made a match once after introducing 2 friends of mine at a party just because they were both there, but not specifically for a ‘match’. They’re now happily married for 4 years and give me credit for their match, though! :)

Match me! I played matchmaker once – my coworker + my boyfriend’s roommate. They had a good time on their date but he left for grad school shortly after so it ended up not working out.

i thought about playing matchmaker just this past weekend for my two friends, but on further reflection decided that those two probably wouldn’t really get along so well.

Playing matchmaker? Not so much in the people department. However, I love to match people with things I know they will love – Books, music, home decor items, you name it!

I have played match maker on two occasions – both got married AND DIVORCED after several years and 2 children each! Never again.

I went on a blind date with a friend when I was in nursing school. Would never do that again!

    Happily married for 18+ years!

A dear friend matched me up in high school on a “blind date.” With a guy from our school that I had never met. Little did she know I had been crushing on him from a distance for some time! We have been together ever since the first time we saw each other…10 years, that is…married for 3 :) She did a great job!

My husband and I were tricked into going on our first date. A mutual family friend said to me “remember that guy from my dad’s party well he wants you to join us for dinner”. I said ok. About four months into dating I said to him “you know I’m so glad that you asked them to invite me” to which he said “I didn’t ask them to invite you you asked them to invite me” So clearly we had been played. Luckily for them it worked out nicely!
