Fab Freebie: Matchmaker, Matchmaker

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!

Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?

ArtDotComGiveaway

  • PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

    MATCH ME!

Yes, my boyfreind and I played match maker hooking up a guy from his office with a girl from my office 2 years ago. We are going to their wedding in October, so guess we aren’t so bad at it. I on the other hand am still waiting for my turn to the alter. Not getting impatient or anything…

My now best friend tried to set me up with a guy years ago, long before her and I became so close (we were just co-workers back then). The “match” didn’t work, but I got to know my co-worker a lot better and we soon became great friends ; ) I suppose it was an unexpected match!

MATCH ME! I have played matchmaker before. There was a guy I worked with many years ago and our personalities seemed to clash once in a while. Since my BFF and I have the complete opposite taste in men, and since I didn’t quite care for this guy, I figured they would be PERFECT! They met, they dated, they married and they just celebrated their 8th Anniversary yesterday! :)

After getting tired of my best friend trying to set me up with yet another freak she just met online, I took matters into my own hands, joined eharmony, and met my husband that way. I recommend that site to all my friends looking to find a mate.

I usually just match up people in my mind or in a conversation with someone “oh, wouldn’t so-and-so make a cute couple?”, but stop at that. Don’t want to get myself in trouble – haha.

The hubs and I introduced two friends to each other and they hit it off perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that they got married a year before we did and now have two beautiful kids, one boy and one girl.

I try not to matchmake, but I’m thankful for the friends who set up my parents on a blind date in college in 1971. They were very happily married for over 38 years after that. My dad passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago and I’m just thankful for the matchmakers in their lives because I wouldn’t have been here without them, nor had the opportunity to see what a testimony my parents’ marriage was for all!

    MATCH ME!

My parents were actually the matchmakers of my husband and I. We were both working at the same restaurant in college and didn’t even know each other. My husband waited on my parents table when they came to visit me and they fell in love with him. After much pushing from them we went out on a date and have been together for the past ten years and married for the past eight and half with two beautiful children. Who would have thought that my parents had such good taste. I guess it goes to show that your parents really do know what is best.
