Fab Freebie: Matchmaker, Matchmaker

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!

Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?

ArtDotComGiveaway

  • PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

Match Me! I’ve tried to play matchmaker several times and actually succeeded once … the couple has been together for about a year and a half! But I also find that matchmaking doesn’t have to be in the love department. I’ve put plenty of people in touch with one another thinking that they’ll be great friends — this one has worked even better!

My husband and I were set up by a mutual co-worker. If it hadn’t been for him we probably would have never tried inter-office dating!

I’ve never played matchmaker, I did once try to encourage my current husband (before we were dating) to date another girl he was interested in (but who I later realized I knew and didn’t particularly like)! I’ll stay out of matchmaking from now on.

    MATCH ME!

Technically speaking, I have not played matchmaker. BUT, I did give my blessing for my brother and best friend of 16 years to start dating several years ago because I thought they would be great together. Turns out they are now married and expecting a baby!!! So not only is my best friend now my sister-in-law, my brother has found the woman of his dreams and is becoming a Dad, and my best friend has found her dream husband and will be the beautiful Mama of my niece or nephew! How cool is that? :)

I have this incessant need to see people in as happy a relationship as my husband and I – I’m so selfish like that! But my husband has taken my matchmaker shoes away after like my umpteenth failure at it. What’s up with that? What’s up with that? :o)

MATCH ME! I swear I am the queen of blind dates. I’ve lost count how many I’ve been on…and unfortunately 98% weren’t worth going out with a second time. But I’m still trying so if you know a cute, decent guy in his 30’s in or around the Salt Lake City area, send him my way! Or just let me win some cool art. :)

MATCH ME! What a great idea!

I semi played matchmaker before. My bff started dating our friend’s cousin & she wasn’t that into him at the time, but I kept convincing her that he was a great guy. After a few dates, she was hooked! She just had to give him a chance. They’re still together after 5 years!
