Fab Freebie: Matchmaker, Matchmaker

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!

Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?

ArtDotComGiveaway

  • PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

    MATCH ME!

My friend is my match maker. She was going on a first date and didn’t want to go alone. So she asked me to go along, and her date brought along a friend too. I told her that it wasn’t a date because I thought it would be so awkward. Well, My friend stopped dating after 3 months, but me and my non-date have been together now for 9 years. Married with a baby!

    MATCH ME!

Currently trying to cupid-ify myself in hooking up my best friend from high school who just broke up with her boyfriend of seven years! So far I’ve tried my fiance’s brother (and quickly realized how bad of an idea it was) and a close friend, so far no hits but I’m not giving up!

    MATCH ME!

My future father in law spotted me at the bank i work at and told his son he needed a woman like me. I got wind of the attempted match making and thought why not! We have been together ever since and we are getting married in 3 months. Some times parents do know best :) We are also in the process of building our first home so a nice piece of art for our new home would be awesome!

    Match Me!!!

I played semi-matchmaker in high school. A guy friend said something like, “Hey… what does Emily think of me?” and I checked into it and then he asked her out… so I didn’t really set them up but kind of set them up so that they could date? Does that make sense? Anyways, it turned out beautifully. :) They just celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary at the beginning of the month. :)

My match making story…a good hearted friend set me up with a blind date(and I actually said yes lol). I meet the guy at the restaurant and suggest sitting at the bar until the table was ready. My first impression- young (I was 23). So, we sit at the bar and I order a drink..he orders a coke. LOL…ssoooo I ask him when he turns 21? Next year!!! At 23, I was not ready for a youg’un to take care of. ;) I think that was the last blind date I went on.

    MATCH ME!

I’ve had some awful “matches” put upon me, and as a glutton for punnishment, I tried the online dating thing for a while. I met some of the most interesting people. (Note: Interesting is my way of being polite- this type of interesting is NOT marriage material. One actually cross dressed every once in a while. And tried to convince me that it was a good thing! Seriously.) I did, however, eventually meet the man of my dreams on match.com. Sometime in the near future (fingers crossed) we’ll be engaged.
