Fab Freebie: Matchmaker, Matchmaker

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!

Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?

ArtDotComGiveaway

  • PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

    MATCH ME!

My husband and I have tried to set up some of my female friends with his male friends, but it hasn’t worked out yet. My friends usually think his friends are a bit….immature. Ha ha

Thanks for the chance! So cool that you can make custom photo canvases at art.com now.

My sister did…. Her friend Michael said “If I could meet a girl like you, but not so b*tchy, I’d marry her.” She said: “You should meet my sister”. We will have our 19th wedding anniversary in September. :) Thanks Sis!
P.S. I’m not being mean – she tells the story the same way!

I’ve tried matchmaking before. Sometimes it works (a good friend and another good friend got married!) and sometimes it doesn’t.

My best friend set me up with her older brother. Sounded like a recipe for disaster to me.. if anyone would able to ruin a friendship and/or family unit in one foul swipe, it would have been me. My luck just works that way. LUCKILY the stars and planets aligned, we totally hit it off, and are living our happily ever after. <3 Now our place DESPERATELY needs some lovin’ of its own on the walls. Match me! Match me! Match me!! :)

i went out with somebody on what i thought was a friend date so i could tell them all about my fantastic friend and that he needed to take out. Unfortunately he started to put the moves on me. He attacked me and was such an awful kisser that neither of us ever went out with him!

    MATCH ME!

I have been at the bad end of several attempted matches, including a soon-to-be Catholic (read: celibate) priest, a guy who wanted 10 kids (just a touch more than I’m interested in) and finally, a woman (“I know you’re not interested in women, but I just don’t know any men!”). Still out there looking. :)

I tried to match up a good friend and my best friend from high school. when my best friend decided he wasnt the right guy for her, he and I started spending more time together and figured out we were the match! 10 years later we are still crazy about each other, got married and just bought our own lil house. And no hard feelings on my best friends part… She was a bridesmaid at our wedding :)

My sister’s exboyfriend, who I completely disapproved of at the time, played match maker for me and my husband. Thank goodness he didn’t take my rudeness to heart. 5 years after they broke up, he introduced me to my husband. I now have him to thank for the love of my life!
