Fab Freebie: Matchmaker, Matchmaker

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!

Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?

ArtDotComGiveaway

  • PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

A co-worker of mine played matchmaker with me and his best friend at his halloween party. My rockin 80’s outfit complete with scrunchie and sparkly leg warmers worked bc I’ve been with my guy for 2 1/2 years!

I was basically matched up with my now husband. He asked about me after we had met at my rooommates get-together. So when I broke up with my then boyfriend, my roommate started inviting my now husband to all our weekend functions. Worked out pretty well!

MATCH ME! I was matched on many one date fiascos for over 4 years through an internet dating site (yes, I was determined that my prince charming had to be out there….somewhere!). Then about 2 years ago I was matched the final time!! My new husband and I were just married June 4th!! I’m all for matchmaking….giving and receiving.

My husband and I have been together ever since we met in HS over 13 years ago, so no one has ever tried to match me up. :-) I also stay away from match making b/c I have ZERO dating knowledge (I refer you back to the whole cheesy HS sweetheart thing). I think it’s probably best this way.

Before my fiance and I finally realized that duh, we belonged together, I had quite a few people try to match me up. I always tried to say no, but sometimes there was no way around it. It makes for some great stories, including one with a guy in a pirate costume. Oh, single days…

I haven’t played matchmaker, but I love to bet with my husband on couples that have matched themselves up – if they’re going to get married or not.

We both usually bet the same thing haha!

My boss played match maker for me and I’d say it worked out rather well — I’ve been married for 9 years to the wonderful man she introduced me to. :) We have a 16 year old beagle and 3 year old twins that complete our family.
