Fab Freebie: Matchmaker, Matchmaker

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!

Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?

ArtDotComGiveaway

  • PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

I can’t remember ever playing matchmaker, so I guess it’s not one of my special talents. The only ‘matching’ I can recall is being matched with my now-husband on a Christian online dating site. It worked–we’re celebrating our 10th anniversary a month from today!

I tried once…and I’ll never do it again! I tried to match my best friend up with my husbands friend…and it turned out there was a reason that 2 engagements had broken off with him! He was WAAAAYYYY to pushy and smothering!! My hubs apologized, stating “I had no idea! I’ve never dated him!”

MATCH ME PLEASE!!! My hubs and I were a blind date that mutual friends set up but we both refused to go, both siting previous horrible blind date disasters. So… they set it up for us to meet casually out with all our mutual friends. Nature took its course and 10 months later we were married. 30 years later we are still each others best friend and madly, deeply in love. Wish everyone could be as lucky!

    I’ve been the match-ie. (?)
Friends have tried a couple times to match me up with friends of their boyfriends. IT WAS HORRIBLE! And people just get offended when you don’t like their friends. And group parties get awkward. Yuck!

My current boyfriend (of 5+ years) I landed for myself. Hooray! :)

LOL Actually my husband and I met on a fansite for Terry Goodkind… We were the 3rd couple to get together (as of now there have been 20+) and told the admin he should just run a dating site. Most of us got married. We’ve been married for nearly 6 years and still as happy as clams outside the Gulf!!
