Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

BLIND ME! I would love to do something for the bay window in the front room of my house. This room is usually dark during the day so something that can be drawn out of the way to let the light in but also covers the window at night for privacy because it faces the street.

Our house is lower than our backyard neighbors… and because we have a pretty open floor plan they can see strait over the fence into our kitchen, dinning and living room. We built our home so there are no mature trees around. We planted a maple tree that was blown over in a storm… we will see if it survives until next year. Roman shades sure would be nice!!!!!!!

    BLIND ME!

In college there was a house next door to my apartment building and I could see right in to their gross disgustingness. They had stuff all over the place. And I was always nervous I’d see them doing something that I shouldn’t be.

I would love to cover the view out my home office window. Blinds would allow me to have light during the day, but will keep the neighbors from watching me on the computer at night.

My kitchen! my neighbor’s house is slightly higher than ours, so at night, they have a great view of my messy play room and occasionally, us in our undies! The curtains block out too much sunlight and air flow. Would love shutters or blinds!!!!

BLIND ME! We fell in love with the beautiful bay window overlooking the front yard and street when we bought our first home six months ago, but once we took down the circa 1970 grandma curtains, we now realize we live in a fishbowl. We’ve also discovered how ridiculously expensive curtains to fit REALLY large windows usually are… Thanks!
