Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!!

I’d cover our front windows – both to block out the sun (yay desert!) and because I’m just slightly paranoid about people looking in.

    Blind Me

We would love to have some privacy in our new house so this would be an awesome timing!! Worst view I ever had would have to be when we lived in a semi-basement apartment in college and I had to look out the window which was eye level with soil…kinda strange :)

I need new blinds for my living room because my dog loves to sit there and wait for me and my family to come home and then she gets so excited that she jumps on the window sill with her front paws and she has in the meantime ripped little holes in them!!!

BLIND ME!!! Because of two precious babes, our budget for the new house went to other things…now I get to lean over to see who’s right out on the public street before darting across our windows to get to the laundry room for my shirt in the dryer!

BLIND ME!! I’d love to replace the old, yellowed blinds that came with our old house that we bought – they frequently get off track, and if they aren’t aligned JUST right, you can totally peek into the bathroom! YIKES!

Blind me! The one and only window in our schoolroom has a great view of our neighbors satellite dish, electric meter, central air unit, wheelbarrow and pile of bricks! Yes, that is all we see when we look outside this one window. Needless to say something stylish to cover all that up would be awesome.

Blind me! Would love to cover my huge picture window. The view from this window is of my neighbor’s garage and his growing mask collection. It started with a mask of the Burger King in one of the garage door windows and he recently added Jason’s hockey mask (from Friday the 13th.) These have nothing to do with Halloween; they have been up since summer! I thought they were funnny at first, but it’s starting to freak me out!

Blind Me! I have a very disagreeable neighbor who actually thinks I plant trees to make a mess in his yard! And that it is my fault that birds land on the common fence and poop on it, which he attacks with a garden hose at fire-hose strength, with the water going right thru the fence slats into my open windows down that side of the house. I avoid eye contact with the neighbor and feel he is just watching to pin something else on me!! Blind me, please!!!!

BLIND ME! We just got occupancy of the new house we’ve been renovating for 6 months and our dining room has a very large bay window at the front of the house and two tall windows on the side. Blind me! Please!!! I have a kitchen window that has had placemats draped over an extension rod for a window treatment for almost 8 years. It doesn’t look that terrible, but it does not do anything to block light. I would love real blinds to keep the summer sun blasting the kitchen like an oven and to make it cozier in the winter.

Blind Me!! We moved into a home, much as you both did, which needed a TON of work~Fun, but oh-so-costly, with a new baby at the same time and lots of things throughout the house that dug much deeper into our pockets than we’d anticipated. We have three rooms, including our bedroom, that still need to be finished. Blinds would give them the a more finished look, and give us some more privacy. Then, I could finally get rid of all of my tension rods and old curtains!!!

I am going to be moving in with my fiancee soon to his new (to him) house and he has two different sets of mismatching blinds on the focal point windows in his main room. Changing the blinds and getting rid of the curtains the previous owner left us is at the TOP of my list!
