Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

Blind me! We’d like to hide the view of our air conditioner from the dining room table. Not a very appetizing sight…

I wish I could cover the bay window in our kitchen. I really like the way it looks without blinds, but I kind of have a feeling everyone can see us, which is a little creepy.

I just bought a house and close on it at the end of the month. The window coverings in the house are… quaint. They roll up sometimes but mostly sit half way down the window! haha.. I love Next Day Blinds!!!

Not so fond of the view out my kitchen window. It looks straight over our sink and to the neighbor’s house…which they just painted an awful awful color.

Our dining room window faces our neighbor’s dining room window…with about 15 feet between the houses!! I wish I could cover this view but still let some light in. The blinds we have now are nice, but in retrospect, i would have chosen a sheer curtain!

When sitting outside, I would love to cover the view of my neighbors backyard – lots of old cars, a trailor, mounts of dirt, etc. Sadly, blinds will not help here, but I do have lots of naked windows looking for some love.

There is a sliding door in my laundry room that has no blinds. With a tall fence around my backyard, I never thought this would be a problem. However, then I went into my neighbor’s backyard the other day…and saw straight into my laundry room through a crack in the fence. Did I mention that is where I stand naked in the morning while I try to sift through my clean laundry and pick out what to wear?

We just need to have our windows covered! My husband is a great DIYer and has been slowly updating our old windows, but he works full time and also has lots of other projects going on with the house (not to mention we have two kids and a new baby!) because it was a big fixer upper so he doesn’t get much time to dedicate to the windows. We’ve lived in our home for two years and only have one window with blinds because I’ve been waiting for him to finish working on the windows before covering them.

The sliding glass doors to our back deck give you a lovely view of the ugly power lines in our backyard. Right now we just have the plastic vertical blinds that were left behind by the previous home owner. We’ve been searching for something more attractive but there aren’t a lot of choices and the ones we like are super expensive.

The view that I most wanted covered was the scene outside of my hotel room when I visited Seattle. I couldn’t wait to visit such an amazing city, and was so excited for our awesome hotel. However, when I looked out my window to see the city views, all I saw was a strip club staring back at me. Although the blinds were ugly, they at least covered up a much more horrible sight!

    BLIND ME!

I once stayed in a hotel in San Francisco that was across from a high rise apartment building. Each night when I returned to my hotel room from the conference I was attending, I was privvy to a live peepshow from the apartment directly across the street from my room. After three days/nights of unwelcome naked couple viewing, I finally stopped opening up my curtains when I woke up in the morning.

We love our home but hate the house behind us. We live in a new community and they have not done anything with their back yard – except keep a ratty dog house and pit bull tied to a stake back there (which we keep calling animal control about).

BLIND ME! In my college dorm a couple of years ago, they were remodeling the building next door, and every weekday there would be workmen walking around on the roof less than 50 feet away from (and 100% level with) our hall bathroom window. Which was awkwardly sometimes open to vent steam from the showers. I am careful to always put curtains on all of my windows.
