Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

I’d have to say my bathroom window went uncovered much too far into my pregnancy (sorry neighbors). For the record, it’s covered now…but the den needs some help!

The blinds we bought for our living room don’t reach the window sill and leaves a 2″ gap at the bottom of the window for everyone to peek into our house. Would love to solve that problem with new window treatments!

I would put blinds up in our bedroom and the kids room. Our bedroom has two huge windows and we definitely cannot afford to cover them both…had no idea how expensive blinds were, even if they are so pretty. The kids room has one huge window and putting some nice light blocking blinds would be amazing and would probably help them sleep longer!

I need this! We have a large picture window in the front of our house that faces the street, with very little front lawn and no trees for privacy. We have ATROCIOUS forty year old vertical blinds in the window now, which the dogs have removed several from in order to get a peek out. We’ve been saving for cordless top-down + bottom-up honeycomb shades for the window, but our lowest quote was $500! Winning this would make such a world of difference to our privacy, while still allowing the dogs to see outside.

BLIND ME!! We have a window by our stairs that has been sans shade since I pulled it off accidentally when we first moved in a few months back. I’m sure the neighbors have been able to sneak a peek of one of us running by in a towel now and again. I think for all parties involved a blind would be a good addition!

We just moved into a new home in a town 5 hours away from where we’ve lived for 5 years. The dining room faces an intersection in our subdivision and is completely open. I would love to put blinds up and be able to use that room without feeling like we’re on parade!

I’d love to block the view my neighbors have directly into our bedrooms and hopefully block out a bit of the noise they make at all hours of the night! Our black out, noise reducing curtains are not cutting it anymore! I’d love to add plantation blinds like we have in the front of our house.

We have a neighbor – who we call “Creepy” – who is just that, super duper creepy. He can see into our living room (well, actually, almost our whole, small condo) from his back deck and stairs and he looooves to look in. We will move into a new position when we see him looking, and he literally moves himself so he can still see us. So creepy. We have blinds now, but they are not very opaque and with our large windows, there were not a lot of options when we bought them, so I would love this!

The funniest window in our house is the window IN THE SHOWER of our basement bathroom, with a direct view to anyone who is out on the screen porch. We’ve circumvented the problem by not using that shower, but what are you supposed to do?? Our eventual plan is to put glass blocks into that shower instead of the window, but in the meantime… we just put up a shower curtain! haha :)

BLIND ME! One of my bathroom windows faces the backyard. There’s a little gap between the upper and lower window treatment so I have to duck and cover when I get out of the shower at night. I guess I could just fix it, but then I wouldn’t get any exercise.

We are in desperate need of blinds in the front room/office of our house. It faces west so the sun heats that room all evening, which for some reason is where the thermostat is located. This means the rest of the house is freezing because the thermostat thinks the whole house is a balmy 75 degrees and why should the heat be on?! Argh.

We have a – I kid you not – window right in the middle of our shower. It’s almost like someone purposely put it at just the right height so that the whole world (or at least our neighbor) can get an eyefull, if you know what I mean. ;)

We need to cover up the windows in our master bedroom that face the street. Granted, it’s on the second floor, but I’m tired of getting dressed in the dark! But the curtains destined for that room are almost done, so these blinds would go into Baby Girl’s nursery — perfect timing since I was just thinking about window treatments for that room today!
