Fab Freebie: It’s A Cinch

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

People sometimes question the purpose of Twitter, but when it helps us find great giveaways it certainly earns another point in our book. So imagine our delight when Fresh Leaf Designs tweeted us about giving away their signature Cushion Corset pillows to one of our lucky readers.

Okay, so it was actually a mix of delight and confusion. After all, what’s a cushion corset anyway? It’s actually a very smart and stylish solution to dressing up a plain ol’ pillow. Just like the name indicates, the corset (i.e. a band of bold fabric) wraps around the pillow and ties in the back creating a punchy accent pillow that, if your mood changes, can easily be “re-dressed” in another corset for a completely new look. Easy, right?

Fresh Leaf Designs

And as you can see from these pictures, Fresh Leaf Designs also sells complimentary throw pillows in coordinating fabrics to help bring even more color to your couch, chair or bed.

Fresh Leaf Designs

So if you wanna snag a set of Fresh Leaf’s great designs, just comment on this post with the words “IT’S A CINCH” by Wednesday, April 29th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, tell us your easiest trick for dressing up your house in a flash (ex: fresh flowers? a quick window cleaning? a bowl of fruit on the table? simply making the bed?).

Fresh Leaf Designs

One winner will be randomly selected to receive their choice of the two pillow sets shown in this post. This giveaway’s open to all of our international readers as well as everyone in the good ol’ US of A. Please limit one entry per e-mail address. Good luck…

    It’s a cinch!

If guests are coming over, we just close our bedroom door, put away the clutter in the living room, and wipe the mirror and sink in the bathroom. It’s amazing how clean the bathroom looks when the mirror and sink are clean!

I love these! I have done this same look in the past much faster than a nice tailored/hemmed corset using wide ribbons, fabric scraps, and even dish towels.

For a quick pick up, there is nothing like made beds, fresh flowers and a bowl of fruit, my favorite for summer is lemons and limes in a large glass vase. Having the beds made, just make a room look pulled together.

The scramble before guests arrive includes swiffering the floors, dusting the tables, fluffing the throw pillows, and getting some snacks/drinks ready. Dim the lights and light some candles and your all set.

    IT’S A CINCH!

My favorite thing to do is buy an inexpensive wooden picture frame from Michael’s, paint it, then superglue a pretty bow made from coordinating ribbon on the top! Presto – a fabulous frame that looks much more expensive than it really is! I have them for all seasons and all rooms. They make great gifts, too!

Love the black & white set! We have our house on the market right now so it has to look fresh all the time….I have fresh flowers all over(cheap bunches from Trader Joe’s) & a big bowl of lemons on the kitchen table(in AZ you can always find a friend trying to get rid of lemons from their trees!)

To dress up the house I unclutter the counters, table tops, and shelves. Once that’s done I realize how beautiful my place is with minimal additions. Funny how the best parts get hidden by the everyday things!

    IT’S A CINCH!

Aside from fresh flowers (I can’t tell you how excited I am to FINALLY be able to snip a few sprigs of lilac or daffodils in the backyard and brighten this place up!) I’ve found that opening the windows (when the weather allows) and making sure all the curtains and blinds are wide open for lots of natural light can make a world of difference. Other than that, I light some candles, make sure I Swiffer the floors, and hide my pile of magazines in the coat closet.

I think fresh flowers are a great way to add a lot to a room without spending too much money! When money is tight I just snip a few evergreen branches from outside (from my ligustrim or magnolia) and it makes for a fresh centerpiece!
