Fab Freebie: It’s A Cinch

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

People sometimes question the purpose of Twitter, but when it helps us find great giveaways it certainly earns another point in our book. So imagine our delight when Fresh Leaf Designs tweeted us about giving away their signature Cushion Corset pillows to one of our lucky readers.

Okay, so it was actually a mix of delight and confusion. After all, what’s a cushion corset anyway? It’s actually a very smart and stylish solution to dressing up a plain ol’ pillow. Just like the name indicates, the corset (i.e. a band of bold fabric) wraps around the pillow and ties in the back creating a punchy accent pillow that, if your mood changes, can easily be “re-dressed” in another corset for a completely new look. Easy, right?

Fresh Leaf Designs

And as you can see from these pictures, Fresh Leaf Designs also sells complimentary throw pillows in coordinating fabrics to help bring even more color to your couch, chair or bed.

Fresh Leaf Designs

So if you wanna snag a set of Fresh Leaf’s great designs, just comment on this post with the words “IT’S A CINCH” by Wednesday, April 29th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, tell us your easiest trick for dressing up your house in a flash (ex: fresh flowers? a quick window cleaning? a bowl of fruit on the table? simply making the bed?).

Fresh Leaf Designs

One winner will be randomly selected to receive their choice of the two pillow sets shown in this post. This giveaway’s open to all of our international readers as well as everyone in the good ol’ US of A. Please limit one entry per e-mail address. Good luck…

    IT’S A CINCH!
Bringing the outside in is an easy and inexpensive way I like to dress up my home – flowers, fern snipings, fresh fruit in a bowl, there are so many possibilities.

    IT’S A CINCH!!!

I run around like I’m on fire making the bed and throwing clothes and shoes behind closed doors – I’m extremely unorganized when it comes to by bedroom, although the rest of the house stays decent.

I think opening the windows and pulling back the drapes makes everything seem fresher and cleaner. And a quick sweep of the kitchen floor. My whole house feels clean if my kitchen is clean.

It’s a Cinch! Easy peasy – 5 minute clean-up sweep tip I received a long time ago; (The beds are required to be made every day – so that should not be an issue). Take a bag -brown paper- to each room – write the corresponding room, grab all clutter, toss it in and put the bags in the jacket closet.
    Cleaned and ready to entertain!

My trick for dressing up the house is to vaccum up all the dog hair bunnies. ;) That and I sweep clutter from horizontal surfaces (it’s like a magnet at our house!) to somewhere less visible.

In general, straightening things up and setting the table (even if we arent going to use it) seem to be great “pull it together” tricks for us. Oh, and if its evening, dim the lights, and light some candles and lamps and VOILA! no one notices the small imperfections, but instead sees the pictures and sculptures etc that I’ve placed near the lamps and candles.

These are so great! Love them!

We clean like mad and then turn lamps on in each room (instead of overhead lighting) for a more cozy feel. We also light some candles and put small bouquets of fresh flowers in bud vases scattered throughout the house.

    It really is a cinch!

My favorite way to invite people into my home is with fresh baked cookies. No one seems to notice if items are out of place (shoes left near the sofa where they were kicked off, or keys left on the kitchen island etc) if there are fresh cookies! Not only are they warm and delicious, but the aroma fills the house with a yummy smell too!

Of course if I don’t have time to bake cookies, I light a candle and pull some plants out of the windows to spotlight them on the tables!

Picking up all our loose ends (usually shoes & dog toys) make the biggest difference. Also, things with right angles just look neater, so we’ll just straighten our magazines & pile our bills on the coffee table in a pinch! :)
