Fab Freebie: It’s A Cinch

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

People sometimes question the purpose of Twitter, but when it helps us find great giveaways it certainly earns another point in our book. So imagine our delight when Fresh Leaf Designs tweeted us about giving away their signature Cushion Corset pillows to one of our lucky readers.

Okay, so it was actually a mix of delight and confusion. After all, what’s a cushion corset anyway? It’s actually a very smart and stylish solution to dressing up a plain ol’ pillow. Just like the name indicates, the corset (i.e. a band of bold fabric) wraps around the pillow and ties in the back creating a punchy accent pillow that, if your mood changes, can easily be “re-dressed” in another corset for a completely new look. Easy, right?

Fresh Leaf Designs

And as you can see from these pictures, Fresh Leaf Designs also sells complimentary throw pillows in coordinating fabrics to help bring even more color to your couch, chair or bed.

Fresh Leaf Designs

So if you wanna snag a set of Fresh Leaf’s great designs, just comment on this post with the words “IT’S A CINCH” by Wednesday, April 29th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, tell us your easiest trick for dressing up your house in a flash (ex: fresh flowers? a quick window cleaning? a bowl of fruit on the table? simply making the bed?).

Fresh Leaf Designs

One winner will be randomly selected to receive their choice of the two pillow sets shown in this post. This giveaway’s open to all of our international readers as well as everyone in the good ol’ US of A. Please limit one entry per e-mail address. Good luck…

I actually quicky open up all the blinds to let as much light in as possible–it makes my space feel bigger and brighter, i also take a damp cloth to all the visible dusty areas and light a candle~ Voila!

To ‘freshen’ my house – I remove the slipcovers from my sofa. With cats & kids, the lovely, easy to wash maroon colored slipcover very forgiving. But when company arrives, they see instead a bright and inviting white couch. It brightens the look of the room & makes the throw pillows ‘pop’.

It’s a cinch! I usually pick things up in a basket that I hide in a closet if there isn’t time to put things in their proper place and then I quickly run the dustbuster around the edges of the room to pick up stray hairs and dust bunnies.

My trick would be keeping clutter down: most of my rooms have a general mood, and are mostly the way I want them, but if the clutter starts to show it really takes away from that mood.

Easiest way to sprouce up for company stopping over: have food ready. I always have ingredients I can quickly whip up into an appetizer or dessert. People do not notice the dust bunnies hiding in the corner when great food and drinks are around.

To dress up my place in a flash, I just buy a couple sculptural potted plants, e.g. aloe, cacti, any type of succulent, and a few simple coordinating pots. It’s the easiest way to add life to a room, plus the plants will last longer and require less maintainable than cut flowers.

The best way to spruce up the house…..run the vacuum and clear the counters in the kitchen. Makes all the difference in the world (it also helps to have your husband and kids run around the house picking up shoes…book bags…anything that is on the floors / tables that shouldn’t be!)

LOOOVE the cushion corsets!!! What a great idea with the complimentary throw pillows! I MUST get my hands on these!

To “dress up the house” I start with a good toy pick up, add fresh flowers, pull up all the blinds to let the most sunlight in and a quick vacuum to finish it off. :)

We turn on the bathroom rock fountain (used to mask personal “soundage” in the central location) and add one drop of tea tree oil to a rock. The whole house smells fresh.

I do a quick pick-up pass through the house, let as much light in as possible, then dust/mop/etc. and enjoy. And if it’s the right time of year (like it is now), we pull in some flowers from the garden into the main living areas.

I really love this idea. I just purchased a new chocolate leather sofa and I’m looking for new pillows. I want to go with a steel blue for the spring/summer and switch it up for the fall. This would be the perfect way to do that without spending a bunch of money. By the by, I love, love, love your blog and will hopefully be needing a mood board of my own soon.
