Fab Freebie: It’s A Cinch

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

People sometimes question the purpose of Twitter, but when it helps us find great giveaways it certainly earns another point in our book. So imagine our delight when Fresh Leaf Designs tweeted us about giving away their signature Cushion Corset pillows to one of our lucky readers.

Okay, so it was actually a mix of delight and confusion. After all, what’s a cushion corset anyway? It’s actually a very smart and stylish solution to dressing up a plain ol’ pillow. Just like the name indicates, the corset (i.e. a band of bold fabric) wraps around the pillow and ties in the back creating a punchy accent pillow that, if your mood changes, can easily be “re-dressed” in another corset for a completely new look. Easy, right?

Fresh Leaf Designs

And as you can see from these pictures, Fresh Leaf Designs also sells complimentary throw pillows in coordinating fabrics to help bring even more color to your couch, chair or bed.

Fresh Leaf Designs

So if you wanna snag a set of Fresh Leaf’s great designs, just comment on this post with the words “IT’S A CINCH” by Wednesday, April 29th at 8pm EST. And while you’re at it, tell us your easiest trick for dressing up your house in a flash (ex: fresh flowers? a quick window cleaning? a bowl of fruit on the table? simply making the bed?).

Fresh Leaf Designs

One winner will be randomly selected to receive their choice of the two pillow sets shown in this post. This giveaway’s open to all of our international readers as well as everyone in the good ol’ US of A. Please limit one entry per e-mail address. Good luck…

IT’S A CINCH! What a great idea for changing your pillow with the seasons!

Our trick for freshing up the house in a snap is flipping over our diffuser reeds (those sticks in a scented oil) so the smell is stronger, and do a quick dust and vaccum.

    IT’S A CINCH!

I give everything a good cleaning. And if I’m really in the mood for a change, I pick up some new accessories. I’ve purposely bought very plain furniture, so when I get bored with what I have, all I need is a few new pillows and accessories to change the look of the whole room. These corsets are right up my alley. :-)

It’s a cinch!! Here in UK we usually grab some flowers from the front garden, make some tea, and set a table with pretty flowery linen. The prints works on the soul…. and the tea revives you!!

It’s a cinch! With 15 minutes notice, I can sweep the floors, load the dishwasher, tidy up the bathroom, clear off the counters to a trusty basket, and clean the glass on the front storm door. Time for a party!

    IT’S A CINCH!

I keep two sets of pillow covers for my sofa and bed throw pillows – one set in warmer shades, the other in cooler colours. I change them out according to my mood (and time availability) :-)

When we have guests over I put a pretty runner over the dining table, bring in flowers, move a couple of plants around and light a couple of candles. Then sit down and think “I’ll never admit this out loud, but sometimes I’m glad the husband is a neat freak”

IT’S A CINCH! In a pinch, I clean off all surfaces of clutter and wipe them down, do a quick Flylady bathroom cleanup and rearrange my house plants (yeah, the guests won’t notice the rearrangement) but I’ll know and it adds some color for free.

    IT’S A CINCH!

When we’re having guests over to our small apartment we’ve found that making ALL clutter disappear makes a big difference. We have bamboo storage baskets in our living room that double as “clutter catchers” when there’s no time for finding the proper place for something.

making sure everything is clutter-free and organized helps make the room feel calm and relaxed for ourselves and our guests. then I like to find sentimental things and display them somehow. it’s surprising what you can find lying around…photos, wine corks from entertaining family and friends, flowers from the garden, etc. add a personal touch.

It’s a cinch! We keep our walls for the most part a neutral pallet, so when we want to change it up or give the room a new look for cheap, we swap out the candles, pillows, or accessories for a quick change. You think your cupboard is bad..we have a whole hallway closet full of things just waiting for their turn in the house!

It’s a cinch! I wish I had a quick fix for dressing up the house. I think the bare minimum required is to pick up the clutter, focusing on the areas the guests will most likely see. I also always feel like the house is cleaner if there is a fresh smelling candle burning.

My favorite way to spruce up the house is to clear off all of the countertops and the dining room table, wipe them down, make my bed, open the blinds to let the sun shine in, and add some fresh flowers to the center of the dining room table. The house feels bright and fresh and clean in a matter of 15 minutes.

Loving this idea, by the way!
