Fab Freebie: Hi, My Name Is…

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We’re back with another fantastic prize that THREE lucky winners will be able to put their names on. This one comes from Customized Stationary, a fun little Etsy shop that features playfully designed cards and prints that you can customize with everything from your first name to your family name. And they’ve kindly put together three sweet sets for our winners to choose from (each which includes a print and set of coordinating notecards) that we were so enamored with we couldn’t help but snag a set for ourselves.

Custom Station Tree

Custom Station Birds

Custom Station Stump

We had trouble picking, but ended up going with the Carved Tree set, which we got to customize not only with our name and our initials carved into the tree, but also with our choice of colors. That way we ended up with a perfect-for-us set of stationary that was almost too good lookin’ to unwrap.

Custom Station Petersiks

Want a chance to customize your own set? Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: 8×10″ print and coordinating twelve pack of 4 x 5.25 notecards in your selected design (Bird Family, Carved Tree or Stump). It’s a $27 value, but stay tuned for a YHL special discount at the end of the contest on Thursday.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CUSTOMIZE ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about one of the last handwritten letters your sent (or received). Seems to be a dying custom in the digital age, so what was memorable about a recent time you used snail mail to send something special?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA Only
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I have an addiction, and it’s called MAIL. I send my friends books or cards in the mail all the time. I have a box full of cards and a variety of stationary. I just bought some cards from the farmer’s market last weekend and sent my 91-year-old grandma a letter today. She’s the one who started it – she’d send me $5 for every letter I wrote her and it developed into a life-long habit. Now she sends me comics from the newspaper :)

Also, postcrossing.com – an awesome web site where you mail strangers postcards. I’ve gotten cards from Siberia, Germany, Australia, and have sent postcards all over. Yay!

Customize Me! I frequently write my husband little letters and cards. The most recent was actually a birthday card I just sent to my mom. I hope handwritten cards and letters don’t die out!

While I lived in London for 3 years my family would always send handwritten notes. I especially remember one where my entire family wrote messages to me on Thanksgiving. I still have it saved because it meant so much to me.

i work for a medium size corporation that serves strictly the non-profit sector. i hate when our clients feel like they are just another client and so after every onsite training i send our clients a hand written note thanking them for their hospitatlity and kindness during my visit. i just finished up a great visit with a small college and put their note in the mail this morning!

My daughter Reese and I were playing school and she wrote me a note with scribble on it so I asked her to read it to me and she said ” I love to play with my friends and my mom”
so I scribbled a note to her and it read ” I love you Reese”
I put her scribble and my scribble in a safe place. I hope to show her those scribbles one day when she has a child. Reese is three and loves to write, maybe she will become writer someday.

I sent a letter to my wonderful 87 year old grandparents who live on their farm in Nebraska. I always love sending them special letters to say “Hello!” The most important part of the letter is a picture of my sweet baby girl who is a year old (their great-grandaughter.) We only get to see them one or twice a year…so I know they treasure getting mail espeically when they see the pictures!

My best friend and I went through her massive box of high school memorabilia a few months ago… she saved letters that I wrote to her when she was grounded [clearly before myspace and facebook existed] about how much I missed her and how I couldn’t wait until she was free again. It was hysterical.

I actually do write a lot of hand-written notes or letters. I often send things to friends who live internationally (most often Germany and Australia), and I always like to tuck a note written on pretty paper into the package. I also write letters or notes when I send copies of my son’s most recent pictures to family members across the country. Thank you!

I am a huge believer in handwritten letters and monogramed/personalized items. I just wrote a letter to my
son in recognition of his 16th birthday. I do it every year and then I stick a $20 in and seal it. He gets a handwritten note commemorating seven holidays each with a $20 stuck inside. He has no idea that I’ve been doing this since he was born. One of these days, he’s going to get a big old pile of cards to go through and enough money to put towards a really nice car. Someday I’ll have grandchildren, and I’m going to do this for them too. It’s such fun!

Oh my! This giveaway is perfect and also perfect timing!!!

CUSTOMIZE ME a set of those adorable little birds! We’re a family of three (mama, dada and baby) and we’re in the process of moving and finding a new nest…we would love to have these to send out to our family and friends announcing where we will land next.

I am a true believer in the written letter – and always, yes always, send a handwritten note for holidays, birthdays, special occasions – it just makes it so much more personal and fun to receive good ole snail mail. I just send a letter and small gift to my niece, Francesca, who is going to start 4 year old preschool this week…

Thx for the opp to win!

I most recently sent off a couple baby gifts… I attempted to pin a note on each part of the gift (with a diaper pin, of course), but this got difficult quickly. I ended up with a short note to the parents-to-be. Who knows when I last actually wrote a LETTER, though. Ages ago! But they’re way more fun than e-mail.

the last handwritten note i wrote was back in January of this year. i sent a card to everyone who i received a Christmas gift from. the cards were a cheap, generic package from Target. they were cute, but nonetheless, generic. only a year into our marriage we are on a pretty tight budget, so as you can imagine customized stationary is out of the question!

please pick us. we’re Young. we love our House (or apartment, rather). and we’re very in Love…

I just sent out a card to a friend on which a drew a unicycle because she is learning how to ride a unicycle! Lately I have also been sending plain cards out inside envelopes I made out of fun pages from magazines.

Received a card from my sister just the other day – I had a couple of mishaps involving vehicles – so being my wonderful big sis, sent a card letting me know I was not ‘losing it’ and all was okay and that she loved me and was thinking of me. She always has a way of knowing when a simple card works wonders.

I think the last handwritten notes I wrote were Thank You’s for our wedding. I typically send hand-made, handwritten notes for Christmas every year, but after our wedding last year, I just couldn’t get them made and out. Maybe this year… but I guess that means I should get started already. AHH!

The last thank you note I wrote was to a friend thanking them for the beautiful clothes they gave my son. I recently gave birth to the most precious thing in the world. My son is now 4 months old. Handwritten notes are definitely something of the past, but I grew up sending them and have 3 drawers dedicated to stationery in my home :) I’m addicted to beautiful cards and notepaper!

Wow. It’s been a while since I sent or received a HANDWRITTEN letter. I get announcement cards, invitations, thank you cards all the time…but I think one handwritten Thank you card I received was from a friend’s baby’s 1st birthday…when I handmade babysitting coupons for them. It’s their 1st child and they appreciate babysitters so much because they get to go out together on date nights…so it was basically that….thanking us (my husband and I) for the coupons. =)
It was sweet of them to send a note.
