Fab Freebie: Hi, My Name Is…

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We’re back with another fantastic prize that THREE lucky winners will be able to put their names on. This one comes from Customized Stationary, a fun little Etsy shop that features playfully designed cards and prints that you can customize with everything from your first name to your family name. And they’ve kindly put together three sweet sets for our winners to choose from (each which includes a print and set of coordinating notecards) that we were so enamored with we couldn’t help but snag a set for ourselves.

Custom Station Tree

Custom Station Birds

Custom Station Stump

We had trouble picking, but ended up going with the Carved Tree set, which we got to customize not only with our name and our initials carved into the tree, but also with our choice of colors. That way we ended up with a perfect-for-us set of stationary that was almost too good lookin’ to unwrap.

Custom Station Petersiks

Want a chance to customize your own set? Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: 8×10″ print and coordinating twelve pack of 4 x 5.25 notecards in your selected design (Bird Family, Carved Tree or Stump). It’s a $27 value, but stay tuned for a YHL special discount at the end of the contest on Thursday.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CUSTOMIZE ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about one of the last handwritten letters your sent (or received). Seems to be a dying custom in the digital age, so what was memorable about a recent time you used snail mail to send something special?
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA Only
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I just sent a note card and 4 bottles of hot sauce to a friend. He was homesick for the US and couldn’t find his favorite brand in Canada, where he now lives. Postage was 28 bucks for 12 bucks worth of sauce, but it was worth it.

The last handwritten notes that I’ve had the pleasure of sending out were thank you notes for my bridal shower. With the wedding coming up soon, it would be great to have the initials in tree notes to use. They are adorable.

My grandma sends me cards for birthdays, holidays, etc., and always includes a one- to two-page handwritten letter with recent happenings and questions about what’s going on with us. Even though we talk on the phone often, I always enjoy her handwritten notes and love to reply in the same way.

    CUSTOMIZE ME….

In lieu of a wedding card, my husband and I received a three page letter from a dear friend of ours to go along with his gift to us. It was touching as he chronicled the many memories he has of us together and wished us the best for the future. My husband and I were so touched and caught of guard by such a meaningful gesture. In fact, we have made it a tradition to include a hand written letter with every wedding gift we give to others. It is amazing how much that means to people, us included!

And how cute would it be to write that handwritten note in this ADORABLE stationary???

One of my good friends and I used to work together until I moved from the west coast to the east coast. When we were cube mates, we used to write notes over the wall to entertain each other. Now, we write notes and cards and mail them. We always give each other stationary as gifts too! My dream job is to open a stationary store!

I’m not going to answer the question you asked, but share a special story. My most cherished piece of mail is the last handwritten letter my grandmother sent me before she passed. It was written on just a simple white index card, but the fact she took the time to send it even though writing wasn’t easy for her to do is amazing.
I’ll always keep that little white card to remember her.

CUSTOMIZE ME! These are so cute! I just received a letter today tucked into a package from my best friend – a package full of maternity clothes – yay new clothes!- and it was so good just to see her handwriting. I miss being in college when it seemed we were always writing notes back and forth and we all knew exactly what everyone’s handwriting looked like. It can be just so familiar and comforting.

The last two handwritten notes I wrote were actually postcards to friends. My hubs and I recently moved across the country, and miss our friends back home. While we keep in contact daily via text, email, facebook, phone, etc. with our close pals, I thought a little handwritten message on the back of a postcard from our new city would be extra special!!

Our friends loved the personal touch and the small gift from our new hometown, they keep the postcards on their fridges! :)

My grandmother-in-law used to send us cards/letters all the time and we kept all of them. I would often send her cards in the mail too. The last card we received was a postcard from her trip to Texas last April and at the end she mentioned how excited she was to see us in May. Unfortunately, she passed away just weeks before we were scheduled to see each other but we still hold onto that card and all the others before it as memories. She was a wonderful woman.

My uncle was with this wonderful lady that we considered our aunt and part of our family. They were together for a very long time but never got married. Once they broke up and never spoke again she moved and we missed her terribly, she was such a sweet and kind lady. We wrote back and forth from the time I was 8-12 years old. Unfortunatly busy life and time has moved on and I haven’t heard from her since.

CUSTOMIZE ME! I write handwritten cards frequently – it’s one of my favorite things to do, and I always have stationary or misc. cards lying around at the ready. I’ve written quite a few recently: a random one for my bf, just because; a congrats card to a newly engaged friend; a “cheer up” note for my sister (a recent college grad) who’s having a hard time finding a job; and one for a friend going through breakup.

I think it’s so thoughtful when I receive a thank you note in the mail. We helped paint a friend’s living room recently. They were very grateful when we were there, but it was nice to also get a personalized thank you in the mail a few days later. I always write thank you notes and birthday cards… I LOVE stationary/cards when I get them, so it’s something I like to do for others.
