Fab Freebie: Gone Fishing

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our two lucky winners as selected by random.org are… Susie (who doesn’t like fish, despite her former employment at Red Lobster) and Sarah (who especially loves Maryland crab, shrimp, salmon, and freshly caught smoked trout). Congrats ladies!

Back when I lived in Brooklyn there was this cool dishware store down the street called Fishs Eddy that I loved. Last Christmas I even bought Sherry two coffee mugs from there. And now, in what can only be called a full circle moment, we’re teaming up with them for a giveaway for you guys. They’ve got tons of fun colorful patterns so we’ve put together three around-$50 prize packages of our favorites: the Food Bank pattern (which benefits the NYC Food Bank), the always-classic 212 New York Skyline pattern, and the playful Charley Harper pattern. So each of our TWO winners will get to pick their favorite collection and take it home.

Fishs Eddy Giveaway

  • PRIZE: One of the following sets of Fishs Eddy dishware: (1) Food Bank set including dishtowel, two mugs, and a set of four sauce dishes, (2) New York Skyline set including salt & pepper shakers, a charger, and a set of four 15oz glasses or (3) Charley Harper set including one fish mug, three fish sauce dishes, and a set of four sunset glasses
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FISH ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …where do you stand on seafood? Have you never met a piece of salmon, fried shrimp, or crabcake you didn’t like? Or do you avoid fish like the plague (perhaps because it tastes “too fishy” or you’re a vegetarian)? Maybe you fall somewhere in the middle and only enjoy specific seafood dishes?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 5 at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States & Canada (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Fishs Eddy.

Fish me! We eat fish a lot around our house- usually tilapia and usually in the form of fish tacos and Asian summer rolls. I especially love that our 4 year old and 2 year old eat such fun cuisine too!

FISH ME! Like any true Nova Scotian I love sea food in all shapes and forms!
As a kid I hated the smell and the “fishy” taste. Now as an adult living in Toronto far from the docks, I can’t wait to get back to the coast for some fresh from the boat fish. I make due with supermarket fish for now.

My husband and I are obsessed with sushi and we decided last year to start making it on our own at home. We are lucky to have gone fishing in Alaska and have some tasty Alaskan salmon that we use.

    We are seafood folk :)

I love any and all seafood. Anything from sushi to lobster and everything in between. I lament that I live in a land-locked city and can’t wait to move to the shore at some point in my life!

    Fish ME!

I like seafood, but only if it doesn’t taste too fishy.

Also, I don’t care for crabs that come in a barrel that you have to crack open and only get a tiny bit of meat out of each one. Too much work, and I always get cuts on my fingers. Crab’s revenge!

    FISH ME!

My husband and I live in New Orleans and thankfully, we both love seafood (we’d me really missing out if we didnt!) One of the best things we’ve had since we’ve lived here are charbroiled oysters at Drago’s. Think oysters covered in butter, garlic and parm cheese broiled over a grill. SO delish!

Other NOLA specialties have become some of my favorites as well, including gumbo, barbeque shrimp and redfish. I just ate lunch but i’m already hungry again thinking about it!

FISH ME! I am a vegetarian, so I don’t dig seafood. As a vegetarian, I try to be very chill about where we eat out with friends, as long as they have a decent meat-free option. I don’t care if we’re in a steakhouse or I’m surrounded by deep fried chicken, just get me an awesome salad and some pasta, it’s fine. But bleh, I cannot stand seafood restaurants. It just smells WAY too fishy in there, no matter what delicious vegetarian option may be available, I’ll have lost my appetite well before it hits the table.

I used to hate all seafood, but recently I’ve tried shrimp and like it. I also like sushi, but it can’t be too fishy. If it is, I have to use a bunch of wasabi to cover the fish taste.
