We were a smidge skeptical of these faux candles at first, but after receiving a set to take for a test-run, we were pleasantly surprised. The rechargeable LED light has an incredible way of flickering so randomly that you’d have almost no idea they weren’t real. Plus, their tea-light size means you can drop them into just about any of your existing votive candle holders if you ever need a change from the modern, frosted glass cups that Smart Candle provides (or even some cool luminary bags to line your front walkway). They’ll even look great in your windows during the holidays.

I am all about Field Roast veggie meats – I’m typically not into these kind of products, but this Seattle-based company uses lentils and real veggies for their products and they are delicious!

What I love about those candles (I’ve been wanting to buy some myself) are that 1) No lead, petroleum byproducts or other ick polluting my house (hard to find affordable lead/paraffin free candles sometimes) and 2) I’m the mom of 2 young kiddos, and those fakers are perfect for those of us who like ambience but prefer the safety (with kids around) of fakin’ it ;)
-I use fake greenery at Christmastime, but try to keep it out of the house the rest of the year LOL ;)

I’LL FAKE IT! I love silk flowers in fun vases from Target, Ikea, Michaels or Pottery Barn. Also picked up some great aluminum serving-ware from West Elm last summer that’s a dead-ringer for Nambe, although the West Elm stuff isn’t food safe so we use it to display foil-wrapped chocolates in contrasting hues or fresh fruit that will be washed or peeled before consumption.

I’ll fake it just like I do the geraniums on top of a high bookcase in my office. Besides, I live in the desert and can’t use real candles outside in the summer anyway. Sometimes it’s still 100 degrees at midnight. I love a good fake anything (almost!!!).

We use Neufchatel cheese in recipes instead of cream cheese. It’s got 1/3 of the fat of cream cheese and you’d never know the difference!
