I love brushed nickel! The kitchen knobs we have now came with the house. They are starting to wear off and turn gold colored. This kind of multi-colored knob is not a good look :)

As to my usual finish, it depends. Our bathroom is brushed nickel and the living room is oil rubbed bronze. I’m going to be trying out that oil rubbed bronze spray paint you used to update our fireplace doors from ugly black and gold, so we’ll see if my attempt turns out as good as yours did!
