***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

The best surprise I’ve gotten was when my now-husband proposed. :-) I thought it was just a normal date-night—boy was I wrong! :-)

I was shopping with my mom one day and came across a sweater at Banana Republic that I loved. However, that day I was shopping for something specific and I didn’t want to spend my money on something else. Then a few months later my mom completely surprised me by giving me the sweater for my birthday! It is still one of my favorite sweaters to wear!

My fiance doesn’t really buy me flowers even though I love them. So when a male coworker of mine bought me a beautiful arrangement as a “thank you” for helping him with a project he was so jealous!!! Probably didn’t help that I txt’d him a pic of the flowers haha!

When my husband and I were first dating, he gave me the best surprise i’ve ever had for our first valentines day. At the time, I lived upstairs in a small house so i had my own door that went up to my room. I got home from class and was going to unload my books up in my room and when i opened the door, hundreds of pink and white balloons fell on top of me and flooded out into the dining room. It was so beautiful!

I think the only time I’ve truly been surprised was when my dad brought home a Super Nintendo. Until that point, my parents were adamantly anti-video games. And he brought it home just one school night – no special occasion and no warning whatsoever. Bizarre.

    GIFT ME!

For our first Valentine’s Day together my husband (then boyfriend) bought me socks. Yes… socks. A couple weeks before then we had a conversation about how I hate buying myself socks because they’re so boring and I would much rather buy fun things (like makeup!, etc.) I probably also complained about not having enough socks. Well, after a romantic dinner complete with champagne and flowers he surprised me with a small wrapped box… containing socks. It was hilarious and actually really thoughtful. :-)

GIFT ME! Like 6 years ago I got flowers at work from a guy who I was not dating (and wanted to just be friends with). It was suprising and embarassing because people kept coming up and saying “oh I didn’t know you had a boyfriend” and I was like, “I don’t”.

My husband is in the military, and when we were dating he was on a very rigorous travel schedule – a week at home and a week away (different places every time). He’d sometimes pick up little odds and ends for me (got me hooked on Mauna Loa nuts!), but the gift that made me squeal the loudest was an iPod Mini.

My husband bought me tickets to see Wicked in Chicago one Christmas. He knew about my love for the books and that I wanted to see the show, but I didn’t think we could go because it was too expensive. Needless to say I was surprised when he told me he got us wonderful balcony tickets! It was the best show I’ve ever seen, as well as my best Christmas.

The best surprise gift i ever got was when I was in fourth grade. I had just switched schools and it was my birthday. My teacher from my old school remembered (because it was also her birthday!) and sent me a card at my new school! The next year she was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away. I still hold onto that card as a testament to what a caring, loving teacher she was and how special she made me feel!

My favorite surprise was in my first year of college when my boyfriend (now husband) brought me a huge bunch of balloons to me on my bday. He remembered me telling him that I never got to get balloons at school because of my summer bday. So now that I was in college and taking summer classes, he brought me a ton of balloons and as I walked down the halls, everyone KNEW it was my birthday! It was a little more embarrassing than it probably would have been in high school but I just thought it was so sweet of him to think of that :-)
