Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

My hubs made me a skirt for my first married birthday (which was less than a month after our wedding, poor guy!). It’s still one of my favorite skirts.

I once was surprised by my best friend, who showed up on my doorstep after driving several hours to surprise me when I was feeling down. I consider myself very lucky to call her my friend. :)

    GIFT ME!

I had been wanting this vintage glass Christmas tree that was my grandmother’s and my mom had. I had told my husband about it and this year he surprised me with one when I was decorating the house for Christmas! He had called me my mother and she found one similar to hers at a thrift shop over the summer. It was perfect.

GIFT ME! The gift that I was most surprised by was from my entire family and in -law family as well. They gave me a beautiful ring on my daughter’s first birthday. It was a birthday for me as well as I nearly lost my life during labor with her. I was so surprised and blessed to have such thoughtful and loving family!

    GIFT MEEEEEE!

Last Christmas, my boyfriend traveled to Tennessee with his family, and I stayed home with mine. They left on my birthday (December 23rd), on which I actually totaled my car on the way to meeting his Grandmother for lunch! When he found out what happened he quickly called a local flower shop and had 2 dozen, small multi colored roses delivered to my door! He had already felt so bad that he was missing my birthday and Christmas

It was the sweetest thing :)

    GIFT ME

Back when my husband and I were “just friends” in college, he surprised me by sending me flowers when I got home from a month at camp. That simple gesture spoke a lot about his character and his care for me.

Please! My mom deserves some nice flowers for the holidays!

I was surprised by the best gift ever last Christmas. My boyfriend at the time made a photo book of our 5 years of adventures together for me. At the end, it had a photo of us sitting in the hammock, with the text, “what is with all this sitting around… onward to our next adventure!”

When I looked up, he was down on one knee proposing! Best gift EVER!!

I had an elderly man, who I sold some art supplies to for Christmas gifts, give me a pearl necklace that he had made. He said it was surprising to find a young person who would give an older man such attention. I wasn’t gunning for a gift, I just love helping people pick out presents.

After dating for about 6 months, my now-husband bought me a pair of designer jeans. He’s a lucky guy, because at the store he told the salesgirl “she’s 6 ft tall and about this (holds up hands) big around”. He had no clue. They fit like a glove.

    GIFT ME!

I have a really good story for this one! It was my senior year in college, I’d been dating my boyfriend for a few months. I played soccer and had a big game that day…and was napping. He had gone to NYC (we were a 20 min train ride away) to drop off some film for a class. He decided to pick up roses on the way back. But when he got back to the train station, it was POURING. He didn’t have a car, and it was a mile walk from the train station to either of our apartments. He called me for a ride several times but I didn’t hear it since I was sleeping.

I got up, dressed for the game, and started to leave my apartment, and as I stepped on the doorstep I saw my boyfriend turning the corner of my street. He was COMPLETELY drenched, head to toe, and basically dragging the roses behind him. It looked like a scene from a movie (you know when the guy gets dejected after proposing or something).

    I felt SO terrible.
(but it was also kind of funny).
