My fiance surprised me a couple years ago. We’ve been long distance for almost 3 years and we video chat quite often. One night he called me and told me to get on video chat as soon as I got home because he had something he wanted to show me (not an unusual request). I signed on as soon as I got home and he said, “ok, hold on a second, I need to go get it.” 2 second later he walked into my bedroom!!!! Turns out he had been hiding upstairs in my sister’s room and took all the stuff off the walls so I wouldn’t recognize it! Such a sweet surprise :)

The best surprise gift I ever got was this awesome pair of shoes. I saw them one day at Macy’s and was smitten. Only they didn’t have my size at any of the stores or the usual suspects for online shoe shopping. I have to admit I was pretty down about it. Then, about 2 months later a package arrives to my office. My boyfriend had found the shoes and sent them to me!

Gift Me! I was surprised on a plain old summer day by a bouquet of flowers on my doorstep with no note attached. After a lot of detective work and questioning of everyone I know, I found that some friends I don’t see too often were “paying it forward” and leaving flowers for random people. I just happened to be one they knew. Now I find myself doing random acts of kindness from that simple bouquet I found on my doorstep!

GIFT ME! My boyfriend (now hubs) invited me to dinner at his house for Valentines Day 1992. After dinner, he took me to the living room, and on the coffee table sat a vase of red roses – and a little gold box. He gave the most memorable speech, slipped onto one knee, and asked me to marry him. Minutes later the little gold box revealed the diamond I still treasure 18 years later. Love you husband!

My husband came home from a business trip with a iris bulb. He knows I love irises. That was several years ago and there are now divisions from that original plant all over our yard. I smile and think of him every time I see them. :)

He gave me a brick from the building where we first met that had recently been torn down due to a fire.
