Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

GIFT ME! A friend surprised me with a bridal shower. My husband had schemed with her and I was under the impression we were going to breakfast at her house. When we were 45 mins late (as schemed) I felt so terrible. When the door opened I was almost in tears with my apology prepared and to my surprise there were 35 of my closest friends, co-workers, and mentors greeting me. I was so shocked I let out that cry that I was on the verge of upon entering!

GIFT ME! My husband was overseas in a remote area for my entire second trimester with my first pregnancy. Not only did he hide my b-day gift under the jetted bathtub through the little access door, but also hid gifts to mark each month of the pregnancy> I am a major gift snooper but I couldn’t find any of them without him guiding me during the very few phone calls we managed to connect!
And then I had a huge surprise for him….no baby belly when he left…huge baby belly when he returned!

The best surprise was being proposed to. I think my husband was just as surprised. He had been waiting for the right moment for a while and decided to do it while we were on a hike in a local state park. He didn’t have the ring but it was the perfect moment!

Before my boyfriend and I started dating, he surprised me at work with a big box of painting supplies. I was surprised, embarrassed, and very flattered. Needless to say we started dating shortly after.

My husband made a book for me for my 30th bday titled “Why Robyn is Awesome”. In the book he had letters from all my closest friends and family saying why I was awesome. He bound the letters inside an “old timey” book and also burned the edges of the pages…soooo sweet.

    GIFT ME!

I had a really bad infection that put me out of commission for about 2 weeks. When I was well I was itching to go out. My husband surprised me by taking me to the new movie theatre in town. It has little tables in the theatre where you can eat and then you have huge comfy chairs to watch your movie. I was thoroughly surprised that he would take me to see Tangled – he doesn’t normally like animated movies!

This past birthday I came home to a HUGE package on my doorstep, I had no idea what it was and when I opened it up inside (immediately after entering) it was a persimmon colored kitchen aide mixer! I’ve been craving one for forever and my boyfriend surprised me with it for my special day!

GIFT ME! I like gift-giving more than gift-receiving, and I think I tend to block out memories of receiving because so often it’s a disappointment…so I’m going to use the old trick of answering the question I would prefer to be asked: What will you do with the gift card? I thought you’d never ask. As I’ve already placed orders for my grandmother’s and mother-in-law’s Christmas bouquets, I would use it to fill the house with flowers for the holidays, when my mom will be visiting. I’m a big fan of buying a bunch of flowers and stretching it into multiple bouquets (the house is currently sporting seven, made out of two $15 Costco bunches). Since they won’t last until the 25th, this would be perfect for restocking for Christmas.

    GIFT ME!

The doors on my old LeBaron didn’t lock, so my husband used to sneak little things into the car while I was at work. Sometimes flowers, sometimes just a little candy bar. It was great to come out after a crummy day to find a sweet little ninja gift in the passenger seat.

My birthday was recently and I had to work on it (I do trivia at a restaurant) and my sister and her friends came in to see me with a balloon which was a surprise in itself, but towards the end of my trivia all the waitresses came out singing to me with an ice cream cake! I was blown away, it was fabulous!

Gift me! It was the last day of the school year and one of my 2nd grade students gave me a little foil packet with instructions to open it later, in private. When I opened it, inside I found five perfect little sugar-snap peas with a note from my student explaining that he had grown them himself and they were the first of the season. So sweet!

My husband gets so excited about giving me presents. You see… he is terrible at being patient. He just can’t wait to give me the gift, so he gives it to me whenever he gets it.. and then usually buys me something else later on too. We decided to only spend $20 on each other for Christmas this year and I have already received a steam cleaner, a fire pit, and he is planning on also buying us Disneyland tickets. I am thinking that his $20 limit was up a long time ago. His inability to keep a surprise ends up with lots of little surprises all leading up to a holiday :)

Oh my gosh … hands down, the biggest surprise of my life was when my husband proposed to me. I was not expecting it AT ALL, and my thoughts were so confused and jumbled when he opened that ring box that my first nonsensical thought was that it was a fake ring, just for fun. ???
