Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

Gift me! please! My college roommate dropped and shattered the old yellow pyrex mixing bowl I had brought from home(and used with my mom since I was a kid) and for my last birthday (three years later) she hunted down an exact replica-scratched paint and all.

For our first year of dating, my boyfriend had flowers delivered to me at work once a month. It was always such an exciting thing to wonder what my flowers for the month would be, and I looked forward to that day every month!

I see my best surprise gift every day. It’s my daughter… We’d given up trying to have kids and thought it’d be just the two of us… we decided to do one last round with the specialist and it worked. Best present ever.

    GIFT ME!

Once my hubby (then boyfriend) surprised me with–wait for it–a hubcap. Possibly due to my less than stellar parallel parking skills, one of mine had disappeared but I couldn’t be bothered to replace it, so I drove around for months without it. Then one day I came home from work and there was a shiny new one with a bow! It might not seem like the most romantic gift ever, but it was very sweet. :)

My husband brought me home a 6 year old rescue dog who had two bad hips and could barely walk. I fell in love with him immediatly and after 1 surgery and many summer evenings teaching him to swim to build strength he was able to walk again and we were on our way to surgery #2 to fix him completely. Unfortunatly he only was in our lives for 8 months,(we tearfully had to put him down due to cancer 2 weeks before his next scheduled operation) but he lives in our hearts forever. He tought us so much about compassion and perserverance….and that was a gift no money could ever buy!

My best friend lives in Texas (I’m in Kansas). One day I came home to a package in the mail (who doesn’t love getting personal mail?), with a “Someone in Texas Loves Me” mug inside. I appreciated the spontaneity plus the cheesiness of the mug. Makes me smile every time I use it.

GIFT ME! I just got a wonderful surprise for my birthday last week. He organized a lunch for my 2 best friends and I. After lunch, the staff came out with the best red velvet cake from a local bakery and a card from my husband. He had dropped the sweet surprise off earlier that day to top off our lunch. What a delicious surprise!

I am not very good at surprises AT ALL (I’m trying to get a good one for my DH this year)! My parents are really good at it, but my favorite surprize gift of all would be the heirloom cake plate that my Grandmother gave me a few years ago, which was her mother’s.

I was making calzones from scratch for the first time. I had the wrong dough and everything was just falling apart on me. In walks my boyfriend with flowers. They were just a random gift and they made my day.

He added a bonus gift by driving me to the store to get the right dough.

My husband likes to make “secret compartments” in gift boxes. He will get me something sweet or practical (flowers or a sweater, let’s say) and after I open a gift, he reminds me that I am not finished opening it. (He makes another layer with a “trap door” and usually there’s a DVD in there a framed photo of us or now, our daughter.) Cheesy? Perhaps. But I love it and I love him! <3

A few weeks ago I flew home from NY (to the Bay Area, CA) and my husband picked me up from the airport. I thought he would be in waiting at the “pick up curb” but as I was waiting for my baggage a tall handsome man appeared behind me with a huge bouquet of flowers. It was my husband! And he had a bottle of wine and some sushi at home in case I was hungry or thirsty! It was simple yet so very thoughtful!

One of the best surprise gifts I got was a few weeks after I had my daughter, Claire. My husband sent me the most beautiful bouquet of my favorite flowers. On the little card it said, “You have been the best wife, and now you’re a fantastic mom” It made me cry! It meant a lot seeing as he is not a very romantic guy!
