Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

    GIFT ME!
My husband gave me a very unique set of flowers. All made out of car parts!! Since we have cats, our cats love fresh cut flowers! So, instead of buying fresh flowers…my handy DIY creative hubby made some for me. Was very unexpected and I even entered it in our State Fair! I blogged about it – here: http://wendyearly.blogspot.com/2010/06/special-flowers-just-for-me.html

My boyfriend surprised me with a teddy bear he sewed for me completely from scratch! It looked a bit more like a mouse than a bear, but I loved that he spent so much time on it! :)

GIVE ME! (Sorry, I hate the use of “gift” as a verb, I just can’t bring myself to use it that way.) My boyfriend was out of town on my birthday one year and had some friends surprise me with cupcakes. I was just doing homework and they showed up with delicious treats!

~my hubbu suprised me with an incredibly pricey, BEAUTIFUL new watch one day when I came home. He had gone to the mall and picked it out all by himself, with the help of our kiddos. He NAILED it, too! It was just exactly what I wanted, and had been dreaming of getting–but there was no WAY I’d spend that kind of money on me! He loves me!

The biggest surprise I received from my grandfather. As a kid I loved real looking stuffed animals like cats and dogs. One year at college, on my birthday, my grandfather had the local florist deliver a live size golden retriever stuffed animal. It was so sweet because it brought back childhood memories and showed how much my grandfather remembered from when I was a kid. I put it in my bed and snuggled down with it every night – the next best thing to snuggling with a real dog.

My mom always made birthdays so special when we lived at home. We’d wake up to the kitchen decorated with streamers and a vase of flowers on the table. My husband did the same thing for me the first year we were married since he knew I loved it so much. I’m always looking for a reason to celebrate!

I’ve been surprised with flowers several times since meeting my wonderful fiance. But my favorite flower surprise story is actually the time that I sent my Momma flowers on my birthday to say thanks for giving me the life I was to celebrate that day. It was a total surprise to her and she felt very appreciated. And appreciation is something that Moms don’t get enough of (even if they get a lot — it’s still not enough).
