Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

The best gift I ever received was having my soldier home for Christmas. I came home after a long night working on Christmas Eve day and went up to my bathroom to take a shower and relax. When I got out of the shower, there he was! Standing right outside my bathroom as I was wrapped in a towel. Haha! Best present EVER!

A boyfriend sent me flowers once after we went on a date and got snowcones. The flowers were as bright as the snowcones. I thought it was cute.

My grandfather surprised me one Christmas with a gorgeous, antique sapphire and diamond engagement ring. I was only 14 and the fact that he thought I was responsible enough and special enough to receive such a gift made it unforgettable.

    GIFT ME

so I can’t choose between two surprises so I will quickly describe two that relate to my husband, Brandon.

    1. We dated long distance(he’s from Md, I’m from Ma)for a month when he drove to Boston so we could meet in person for the first time. He called saying he was in town, so, I suggested the logical thing that we meet at at my house. Brandon, being unconventional, said he wanted to meet at the Home Depot which was located next to his hotel, and I agreed (a little ironic considering the amount of time we spend at Home Depot nowadays because of our DIYing). I arrived at the Home Depot and he was not out front but hiding somewhere in the store! He actually said I had to find him! I looked in every department(for a guy I’d never met) for 15 min and was about to leave thinking I was being set up. I gave one more scan around the store and “surprise” there is the cute blond blue-eyed boy I knew from photos, hiding in the door section. I proceeded to tackle him for putting me through that.

    2. Two months later I flew down to Md on New Years Eve to visit Brandon. I was walking to the arrival terminal when I see a group of strangers standing in a line. One asks me if I was Alana, so I said yes. They then, one at a time, pulled out signs that read, Alana, Will, You, Marry…and then Brandon comes out with the ring! I had no idea. Ended up being the best NYE I’ve ever had. I said yes, and our 4th anniversary is next week.

Thanks so much for the awesome giveaway! Best surprise I ever got was a piece of furniture from my hubby. I’d had my eye on it for a while, he took me to buy it, it had been sold…to him. It was set up in our house when we got home. He’s a sneaky one.

    Gift Me!

My very first Mother’s Day after marrying my wonderful husband… He surprised me, but only after making me SO MAD!!! Lol.

I waited all day long for something from him, and kept expecting it. Ok, no breakfast in bed… Ok, no special lunch after church… (and I kept asking him things to lead him into letting me know if there was something special planned) Nothing. All day. I put the kids to bed that night, and I was STEAMING mad that he did not do ANYTHING for me!!!

So I plopped into bed early, huffing and mad. He went into the other room, instead of coming to bed with me…. At this point I was planning his murder! Then, he comes into the room with two candles, and sets them down. (Y’all, this is G-rated, I promise). He leaves again, and my curiosity is peaked… He comes back in with a pan of water, and I am like… um…. Then, he moves the covers off of my feet and gives me a pedicure IN BED… He bought a Beauti-Control pedicure and manicure kit. And he sat there with a scrubby, and foot creams, and gave me a mani-pedi right from the comfort of my bed. I actually cried. :)

    GIFT ME!!

My hubby (before he was my hubby) sent me flowers when he was working several states away for the summer. We had just started going out, and the card with the flowers said “I love you” which we hadn’t said to each other yet. I was a little freaked out, so I didn’t mention it to him. It took us another seven or eight months to say “I love you” for real. At that time, I brought up the card, and he said he had no idea what I was talking about. I think the flower people had taken matters into their own hands!

My husband loves to surprise me. The best surprise (apart from the proposal) is when I came home after 2 week long trip back to my homeland to find bunch of new furniture in the house (2 fully furnished bedrooms with dressers, beds, and best of all- full wall of mirrored wardrobes in master bedroom!). Hubby spent all the free time after work on assembling and putting everything together for my arrival. I think he loves me ?
