Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

    GIFT ME!

My hubby threw me a surprise 30th b-day party in July while my family and some of his cousins were visiting – and my BFF flew in for the occasion! He planned it for 4 months with the help of my friends, and I had NO IDEA. :)

I’m trying to think of a time someone surprised me with a gift and I can’t think of anything. I’m a little bummed now. That $100 gift card would cheer me up though!

The best gift I ever received was on our 3rd wedding anniversary. My husband was serving in Iraq and shocked me by showing up at the door totally unexpectedly!! He had somehow kept the secret that he was getting a 2-week leave to come home and it happened to fall on our anniversary. I don’t think I have ever laughed and cried so hard at the same time. That anniversary gift will be a hard one for him to ever top :)

My parents surprised my sisters and I with a game table for Christmas when we were younger. It was totally cool back in the day…and the larger package made it even more exciting.

When I was about 13 I bothered my mother for a new day bed. She kept telling me it was to expensive and my old bed was fine. I came home from school one day to find it in my bedroom with the nicest comforter set and all. It was such a great surprise.

GIFT ME! It sounds corny, but the best surprise gift I was given came in the form of a positive pregnancy test. My baby is now 6 months old and nothing my hubby has ever given me has been or ever will be better.

My most unexpected gift ever was my engagement ring. My fiance is super practical and I didn’t expect him to propose when he did because I was out of work and we were both starting our careers. I was shocked (though, obviously, it worked out!).

Best gift ever! Toss up between my husband surprising me this year with a vintage card catalog (that I had been looking for for about 2 years) and when I turned 12 and my parents hired someone to come in a deck about my bedroom with all sorts of balloons (from hand shaped animals and flowers to helium- all sizes- my room was virtually covered) it was magical & surprising and really stands out in my memory.

    GIFT ME!

The best gift I can remember getting was a puppy after my dad said many times that we couldn’t get one (not just one, but the specific dog). He finally gave in and while he and my mom were “out Christmas shopping” one evening in December, they got the puppy. I’ll never forget them coming in the front door with Jena’s little head poking out of his jacket. My brother, sister and I freaked out! He passed away the following August (we didn’t even know he was sick at the time), so she was the last Christmas present we got from him.

    Gift me!

One Valentine’s Day in high school, I was sitting at home with my parents when suddenly, there was a knock at the door. My dad actually went to get it because well…it was a little strange for someone to be at the door when it was dark out. Turns out it was a pizza guy BUT we hadn’t ordered a pizza. My high school boyfriend worked at Little Caeser’s and had made a heart shaped pizza with “I Love You” spelled out in pepperonis and then had it delivered by one of his friends. Pretty funny to look back on, but gotta give the poor guy credit…it was creative! haha

When my husband (then boyfriend) broke up with me during high school, he gave me a bouquet of roses, stuffed dalmation, and a love song CD homecoming weekend when he realized how big of a mistake dumping me was.
That CD is still in my rotation of favorite music mix, 8 years later.

I moved to a new city to live with my boyfriend. When I arrived, he surprised with a beautiful silver necklace that was totally to my taste. It was unexpected and very sweet. I like my jewelry to have meaning, so I love having that necklace to commemorate moving in together.

One year for my anniversary my husband took me to dinner at a wonderful restaurant – that alone was a great gift but then he surprised me by having the waiter bring out a bottle of limoncello he sneaked in earlier. It was the same kind we had in Italy and he wanted to remind me of our time there.

The biggest surprise I’ve received in the way of flowers was a beautiful bouquet of gerbera daisies that my little brother sent me for my 30th birthday…he was living in Brazil at the time with his brand new wife and the flowers, and the fact that he was living so far away and had just gotten married, were a huge reminder about how much he’s grown up – and how old I had gotten! :)
