Fab Freebie: Gifts In Bloom

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won (and check out a special discount!)***

It’s the season of giving, aka: the season of gifting. Which is why this week’s giveaway from GiftTree.com should come in handy. Fresh blooms always make a room feel more festive and inviting, especially around the holidays. And GiftTree has a great selection of florals with some holiday flair:

Gift Tree Xmas Bouqet

And no worries if you’re having trouble deciding whether to send a bouquet to your loved one or just to yourself. The $100 gift card that’s up for grabs means you can actually do both.

Gift Tree Belle Ball

Here are all the dirty deets:

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card towards anything on GiftTree.com, including flowers (they’re made by local florists & may vary slightly from the pics).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “GIFT ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a time you were surprised by a gift (whether it was a bouquet of flowers or something else). Maybe your guy got you a dozen roses “just because”? Or you came home to a wrapped present on your half birthday?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 8th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The fifty United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Not only do we have one winner, but everyone can get 10% off any order on GiftTree.com with code YHL10. Happy gifting everyone!

And our lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Roshni (who gets surprised often by her husband, so she couldn’t pick just one instance as her favorite). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from GiftTree.

Perfect timing–my husband and I just decided that we would send his great-aunt a holiday arrangement instead of buying her a Christmas gift. More clutter is a burden for her, and she misses the days when she could decorate a tree.

My boyfriend and I were doing long distance for a couple of months, and out of the blue I got woken up at 7 am with a flower delivery of a dozen roses, with a “I miss you” note :0)

I know it’s weird but I was excited to come home to new silverware, a toaster, and glasses from my fiance because I’m too cheap to buy them myself.

My husband doesn’t surprise me too often (He doesn’t like surprises, I guess), but he has sent me flowers a few times, or stayed home to greet me when he was originally to be at the office, etc. He can definitely be a sweetie!

Last week I was surprised with an Emma Bridgewater teapot set from my Godmother. It was PERFECT for the baby shower I threw yesterday!

My Godmother had no idea I was in need of a tea pot and didn’t know about the shower, yet the set matched the winter-theme shower perfectly! Right down to the holly leaves & berries design on it! How funny!

hmmm…the time I was surprised by a gift.

Well last Valentines Day I was stuck working the front desk in a residence hall all day. Two boys walked out and asked me who my Valentine was that day. I answered, “Well…no one, unless my roommates count!”. They went on their way. An hour later they returned, with a box of chocolates, for MOI!! I was amazed that complete strangers could be so kind. The world need so many more kind acts like that.

I usually have to give “direct hints” to my husband if I want flowers. But once when we were dating, I came home to a little pot of flowers and a hand-composed “Roses are red” poem. It was so special!

The best surprise gift was from my dad. It was the first time I was away from home (summer camp) and I was extremely home-sick. Crying all the time, calling my parents. A few days into the camp my dad sent me a box with Lord of the Rings (my favorite books of all time) and a note basically saying “if Frodo can make it to Mount Doom you can make it through this.” I started looking at my time there as a mission where I had to take part in things. Pretty soon I started having fun. By the time I left it was bittersweet to leave all the fun and my new friends, and I know without my dad’s box I would have gone home early!

    – My favorite gift to date is the claddaugh ring my mom bought me about 5 years ago. I had a $9 silver claddaugh I’d purchased at a fair and wore for years and she replaced it with a handmade, white gold ring, made IN Ireland. It’s the only piece of jewelry I wear ALWAYS.

I live in a different city than my sister(and parents) but I usually go “back home” or they come see me on my birthday so I never really expect to receive anything from them or at least not until I see them. Well, one year my sister surprised me with a bonsai sent directly to my office. It was beautiful and I loved it. It was such a great surprise.
