Y’all have heard of a little thing called Pantone, right? Well the folks who declared Emerald the color of the year have a slew of color experts who have also inspired a line of paint. And our bloggy friend/decorative painter Kristen clued us into MyColor inspired by Pantone – which is a series of project-sized paints for furniture, accessories, walls and beyond. In addition to the cool clear packaging, these quarts of eggshell paint (which are sold online and at Lowe’s) are ultra low VOC, stain blocking, and self priming. And one of you is gonna get EIGHT quarts in any of their 49 paint colors!

I have a regular meeting in a building that has a fountain out front. The tiles are the lightest, most ethereal celadon color, so desaturated it’s almost grey. It is the perfect color to watch water wash over. That’s my vote, time for less Skittle-ized colors!

PANTONE ME! Picking a favorite color is sort of like picking a favorite song or TV show – I can narrow the list down to say 7 or 8, but pick just one?! For me, c’est impossible!!! Depending on my mood, the day and time, it could be cherry red, crisp white, or stormy grey. I also love UVA blue (read: midnight navy), Labrador black, blush pink, and mint chocolate-chip ice cream green. I lust for exotic teal, dahlia purple, and mustard orange. Which reminds me – I love gold (yes, gold is a color)! Color means something. It is more than just ‘a color.’ It creates a theme, tells a story, makes a room a home. It is about the intensity, depth, and light. Color is about how it makes me feel and, more importantly, how I want to feel. Is it any wonder that my TV has been sitting on top of a to-be-painted-as-soon-as-I-can-pick-a-color dresser for two years because I still can’t choose ‘the one’?! Right now I’m thinking coal black or thunderstorm gray, but don’t expect me to commit any time soon…
