Y’all have heard of a little thing called Pantone, right? Well the folks who declared Emerald the color of the year have a slew of color experts who have also inspired a line of paint. And our bloggy friend/decorative painter Kristen clued us into MyColor inspired by Pantone – which is a series of project-sized paints for furniture, accessories, walls and beyond. In addition to the cool clear packaging, these quarts of eggshell paint (which are sold online and at Lowe’s) are ultra low VOC, stain blocking, and self priming. And one of you is gonna get EIGHT quarts in any of their 49 paint colors!

Anyone else mildly amused that “Pantone” and “Pantene” are spelled so similar? Shampoo color of the year is… emerald!

I like seaglass-y colors which are really the colors of water! We live in Mobile,AL and are very near the beach so the colors of the coast are my favorites: crisp whites, blues of water and sky, shades of pink in the sunrise and sunsets, browns of the marsh and cypress trees, soft greys of drift wood and faded piers/decks, and greens of waters and grasses.
Adding in a punch of color like a yellow or orange to that pallette works like a charm!

Teal is the color for me this year. But it’s not on my clothes since I haven’t bought anything in a year. And it’ll probably be another year before I do, in fact, purchase new clothes. So teal is really just sitting there in my brain, saying, “Helloooo! I’m awesome!”
