Y’all have heard of a little thing called Pantone, right? Well the folks who declared Emerald the color of the year have a slew of color experts who have also inspired a line of paint. And our bloggy friend/decorative painter Kristen clued us into MyColor inspired by Pantone – which is a series of project-sized paints for furniture, accessories, walls and beyond. In addition to the cool clear packaging, these quarts of eggshell paint (which are sold online and at Lowe’s) are ultra low VOC, stain blocking, and self priming. And one of you is gonna get EIGHT quarts in any of their 49 paint colors!

Yellow is my my color of the year! I love it so much that it is one of the colors for our wedding in just 2 1/2 weeks. If there are multiple color options for just about any item, and yellow is one of them, you can pretty much guarantee which one I will pick! It’s just so happy! And I even just got a yellow Kitchenaid mixer to brighten up my kitchen!

I am all about turquoise this year. I used to be red, then purple, now turquoise? I just painted the inside of my closet very close to the first Pantone bucket in the photo above over the weekend. My bedroom walls are gray, so it’s a fun pop of color! A few weeks ago I painted a buffet with annie sloan cream (but refinished the top with a red mahogany for contrast). The drawers, turquoise!
