Fab Freebie: Gettin’ Jiggy With It

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you read this morning’s post about DIYing some wood shelves for the nursery, then it should come as no surprise that this week’s giveaway is from Kreg Tools. They’re giving one of you the chance to take home their Kreg Jig, so – no matter your skill level – you can feel like real woodworker.

Kreg Jig Materials

After all, I hardly consider myself to be a master craftsman, but after my latest shelf-building adventure I’m itching to tackle more wood-related projects. They really can be addicting…

Shelves Close

In addition to the Jig itself, this week’s winner will also be snagging a 675-piece Screw Kit, a Face Clamp and a set of project plans to get you started. So with all that at your disposal, I promise not to be jealous if you build something more complex than me. Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A Kreg Jig, Screw Kit, Face Clamp and set of project plans.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your dream wood-related project. Is there something you’ve always wished you could build? Or a renovation that you dream of tackling with your own two hands?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 7th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All 50 of the United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY. I’ve recent used my Kreg Jig to build a book shelf, 5 drawer dresser, several picture frames, a harvest table, and face frames for a big cabinet. The possibilities seem endless.

Building desk height storage cabinets with doors and shelves above which incorporates a pivoting big screen television is my next task. Using the Kreg system would seem to lessen construction time, especially in constructions the doors.

After discovering Knock Off Wood from one of your posts, I’ve compiled a list of projects a mile long!! At the top is some much needed furniture for our very bare, very LARGE deck – a square table and four benches, and two loungers. This Kreg set would be unbelievably perfect!!

Since I aquired my Kreg jig I have built a 19 drawer fly tying desk, two bedside tables for the master bedroom because I could not find them for the exact height I needed and a Table to hold the new HD TV in the master bedroom with a lifted area to hold the DVR box. Just last weekend I was asked to build cornice boards for my sisters place and with the Kreg jig I was able to assemble the cornice boards and actually complete both in a two day period because with the Kreg jig you don’t have to wait for the glue to completely dry to have a solid working frame to continue assembling the materials. The next projects are to completely redue the closets for better hanging and storage can’t wait to get started.

I would love to build and decorate a dreamy playhouse for my grand daughter Novalee. She’s only 8 months old now, but I would like to have one done for her by the time she’s old enough to play house. I picture it like one of those storybook cottages in Carmel CA, like a little cottage you’d stumble across on a stroll thru Goldilocks forest!
