Fab Freebie: Gettin’ Jiggy With It

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you read this morning’s post about DIYing some wood shelves for the nursery, then it should come as no surprise that this week’s giveaway is from Kreg Tools. They’re giving one of you the chance to take home their Kreg Jig, so – no matter your skill level – you can feel like real woodworker.

Kreg Jig Materials

After all, I hardly consider myself to be a master craftsman, but after my latest shelf-building adventure I’m itching to tackle more wood-related projects. They really can be addicting…

Shelves Close

In addition to the Jig itself, this week’s winner will also be snagging a 675-piece Screw Kit, a Face Clamp and a set of project plans to get you started. So with all that at your disposal, I promise not to be jealous if you build something more complex than me. Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A Kreg Jig, Screw Kit, Face Clamp and set of project plans.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your dream wood-related project. Is there something you’ve always wished you could build? Or a renovation that you dream of tackling with your own two hands?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 7th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All 50 of the United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

“I’m gettin jiggy”… and we would love to build ourselves some custom furniture that we could then eventually pass on to our kids/family one day. My husband is going hoping to start taking some wood working classes, so hopefully we’ll get on that soon! I think our first work of business would be dining room table.

I’m gettin’ Jiggy and I’ve got the projects lined up for Spring and Summer to put this to good use. The biggest one is to build a coffee hutch to go in my daughter and son-in-law’s beauty shop. That one has to be done just right!

My next dream project is to make hope chests for my daughters. Im ready to try something more challenging.

Last summer my 10 yeard old grandson made a foot stool and a bird feeder using the Kreg Tool with grandpas help. He was pretty proud that he was able to use the Kreg tool to make something.

I just finished a coat tree by joining 2 – 4 X 4’s end to end. I have also used it to make 2 book cases and 2 doll beds for my twin grand daughters.

I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY! I used the Kreg Jig to rebuild a family heirloom swinging cradle for my granddaughter. With the Kreg Jig I was able to make the joints strong enough that it was actually safe to put a baby in again. What’s better, I was able to hide my joinery in most cases and use the Kreg plugs for the rest. What a nice looking project when it was all done!

I have avoided doing many wood working projects due to the difficulty, and my phobia, of merging joints. I recently bought the Kreg Jig. I now have the confidence to move forward with a project that I placed on the back-burner just because of the joint issue. I plan to build a custom cabinet below my screen in my home theater. I attached a URL to that screen and upcoming project (bottom photo). Thanks

My dream renovation wouldn’t use this tool. We have dark pine paneling in a large part of our downstairs. I’d love to paint it, take it down, or take part of it down. My husband thinks it’s a national treasure and won’t let it be touched. So it continues to be only a dream.

I’m getting Jiggy. After I moved into my new home I installed a prefab closet wall unit. To my shock it pulled loose from the wall and shattered. It wasn’t until I saw the Kreg jig system that felt that I had some way of salvaging this mess. Now I’m looking forward to building an entertainment wall.
