Fab Freebie: Gettin’ Jiggy With It

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you read this morning’s post about DIYing some wood shelves for the nursery, then it should come as no surprise that this week’s giveaway is from Kreg Tools. They’re giving one of you the chance to take home their Kreg Jig, so – no matter your skill level – you can feel like real woodworker.

Kreg Jig Materials

After all, I hardly consider myself to be a master craftsman, but after my latest shelf-building adventure I’m itching to tackle more wood-related projects. They really can be addicting…

Shelves Close

In addition to the Jig itself, this week’s winner will also be snagging a 675-piece Screw Kit, a Face Clamp and a set of project plans to get you started. So with all that at your disposal, I promise not to be jealous if you build something more complex than me. Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A Kreg Jig, Screw Kit, Face Clamp and set of project plans.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your dream wood-related project. Is there something you’ve always wished you could build? Or a renovation that you dream of tackling with your own two hands?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 7th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All 50 of the United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY

I dream of tearing down the rest of the walls in my house and moving the kitchen into our old office! It’s already got a great bay window that the sink would be awesome under. Plus I would LOVE to learn how to build cabinetry for this theoretical kitchen.

I love tackling my own projects, but with limited space and no designated wood-shop it would be great to have a tool like this! The fact that wood-glue is optional is fantastic.

I’ve never done anything before, so I’d have to start simple… but I really do like the shelves you made and could see that being top of my list!

I’m getting Jiggy! I have a large list of wood projects that I have planned, and yet I have never build anything! My sister in law is coming this summer to help me build an office wall, and I am hoping to build some furniture for my little boys room as well. I may just have to start with those wall book shelves though! Super cute!

Although I don’t have any kids (yet), my dream project is to build both a dress-up box/chest and a puppet theater. And of course, since I love to sew, I also plan to make the dress-up clothes & puppets to accompany both items.

I’m Gettin Jiggy! My dream project is to build my own bed; head/foot boards and side rails. I’ve used my Kreg Jig to build a headboard out of scrap wood and it was good practice. Also used it when I shortened some louvered doors to make them fit on an old bookshelf and created an extra pantry for the kitchen! I love how fast I can put things together without a hammer now…it’s easy on the carpal tunnel and arthritis too!

I’m gettin’ jiggy thinking about what I’d try with this wonderful-sounding Kreg Jig device.

I’d start out small, making picture frames, memory boxes, and boxes for assemblage and collage work. Then, if all goes well, I’d move on up, making floating shelves for displaying the aforementioned items (see how this all segues logically? LOL) — and then, maybe some storage units. And, wow, if that goes well, I could even see making furniture!
