Fab Freebie: Gettin’ Jiggy With It

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you read this morning’s post about DIYing some wood shelves for the nursery, then it should come as no surprise that this week’s giveaway is from Kreg Tools. They’re giving one of you the chance to take home their Kreg Jig, so – no matter your skill level – you can feel like real woodworker.

Kreg Jig Materials

After all, I hardly consider myself to be a master craftsman, but after my latest shelf-building adventure I’m itching to tackle more wood-related projects. They really can be addicting…

Shelves Close

In addition to the Jig itself, this week’s winner will also be snagging a 675-piece Screw Kit, a Face Clamp and a set of project plans to get you started. So with all that at your disposal, I promise not to be jealous if you build something more complex than me. Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A Kreg Jig, Screw Kit, Face Clamp and set of project plans.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your dream wood-related project. Is there something you’ve always wished you could build? Or a renovation that you dream of tackling with your own two hands?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 7th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All 50 of the United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I have seen this tool on TV informercials and have wanted it ever since. My husband and I have so many furniture projects thanks to knock off wood. Our next project is to create a laundry organizer that won’t look tacky in our bedroom, so i’m dreaming of laundry drawers.

    I hope i win :)

I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY – I’d like to transform a room into a study, complete with floor to ceiling bookshelves. English style wainscoting, and deep hunter green or burgundy walls. Library ladder is a must. A quiet refuge away from the TV. I’ve always dreamed about designing a desk which transforms from traditional to 21st century functional by flipping a monitor out of the top, and sliding the front away to reveal a keyboard and mouse. Just to complete the look.

I used a friends Kreg jig before and watched the DVD about four times, boy does that work slick. I recently made a set of drawers for my table saw. My next project is a sleek entertainment center that will be used under a flat screen tv to house the sat box, surround, etc.

    I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY
I’ve always wanted to build a new set of Kitchen Cabinets and an Entertainment Center for our Living Room but have not had the time or cash to do these things since I was busy for the past 35 years raising my children with my wife. Now that the kids are gone I can finally empty out the other side of my 2 car garage and finally set up a work shop so I can get to these projects. A Kreg Jig would be the best addition I could add to my work shop to help me finally build the things I’ve always wanted to build. Just the thought of putting wood together with anything else is a nightmare.

My husband and I are currently working on a cool “mini mudroom” bump-out closet into our garage, and this would definitely come in handy for fashioning all the interior components I have in mind, like the shelves and bench. Neither one of us have much experience with woodworking, but we’re excited to give it a go!
