Fab Freebie: Gettin’ Jiggy With It

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you read this morning’s post about DIYing some wood shelves for the nursery, then it should come as no surprise that this week’s giveaway is from Kreg Tools. They’re giving one of you the chance to take home their Kreg Jig, so – no matter your skill level – you can feel like real woodworker.

Kreg Jig Materials

After all, I hardly consider myself to be a master craftsman, but after my latest shelf-building adventure I’m itching to tackle more wood-related projects. They really can be addicting…

Shelves Close

In addition to the Jig itself, this week’s winner will also be snagging a 675-piece Screw Kit, a Face Clamp and a set of project plans to get you started. So with all that at your disposal, I promise not to be jealous if you build something more complex than me. Here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A Kreg Jig, Screw Kit, Face Clamp and set of project plans.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your dream wood-related project. Is there something you’ve always wished you could build? Or a renovation that you dream of tackling with your own two hands?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 7th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All 50 of the United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    I’M GETTIN’ JIGGY!

My dream projects include: built-in bookshelves and desk, a farmhouse table and bathroom vanity. And by dream projects I mean I hope to have all of those done in the next two years. Of course the Knock Off Wood Blogspot is super helpful in moving those dreams towards reality.

I have always wanted to be able to do custom-size, window-size frames for stained glass panels. The problem has been how to secure the corners without biscuits or dowels – I think a Kreg pocket Screw is the answer!

I’d like to build a divider not unlike the one you tore down in the living room — I need something to delineate the kitchen from the den. It’s a big open L-shaped space, but it doesn’t feel right so I think a divider to hide the side of the fridge would help.

    I’m Gettin’ Jiggy…

I have a space under my stairs that is just wasted space, there is no closet there and it was sheetrocked (sp?) and is just an empty wall. My dream project with wood is to cut out a nice rectangular piece of the sheetrock and make builtins to house my media components and then mount my tv right above the builtins.

I also plan to build some shelves just live you did.. awesome

I would love, love, love to create my own custom kitchen cabinetry in cherry, but sadly, my woodworking experience is limited to using the lathe and making a jewelry box in woodshop in high school. I’m pretty good at finishing, but I would love to actually do the building too.

I have always wanted to build a real nice router table with plenty of extra storage. I would also like to attempt to remodel the kitchen in my house by custom building all of the cabinets myself. I have drawn the plans and it would require about 25 cabinets. Maybe someday when time permits.

We’re really lucky that my FIL is an avid woodworker – so all we have to do is put in requests! We have quite a few gorgeous things from him.

For ourselves, we keep it simple – trim and such when we’re working on the house.
