Fab Freebie: Get Your Fixture Fix

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

And the random person getting their fixture fix this week is… Anne L (who simply described the problem in her bathroom as: “Pink carpet in bathroom?! Nasty!”) Congrats Anne!

Got a bathroom that could use a new faucet? Or new showerhead? Or new just about every fixture? Well then you’re in luck. The generous folks at Moen are dishing out an ENTIRE suite of bathroom fixtures in your choice of three of their most popular collections: the modern 90 Degree, the sexy Voss or the classic Boardwalk. You’ll get:

  • Two bathroom faucets
  • A rainshower showerhead and matching tub spout
  • One 18-inch towel bar
  • Two towel rings, including their new retractable model
  • A pivoting toilet paper holder
  • Two double robe hooks
  • A curved Shower Rod

And just in case you’re not up for DIY-ing the install of all of these sparkly fixtures, they’re gonna toss in a $250 Visa gift card to help you hire it out (or to spend on another finishing touch to your new bathroom makeover). That’s a grand total of up to $1,600 in prizes. I’d say one of you is about to clean up real nice.

Moen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A new suite of Moen bathroom fixtures (in 90 Degree, Voss or Boardwalk) and a $250 Visa gift card
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FIX ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what in your bathroom is in the most desperate need of an update? Are you faced with old cracked tiles in your shower every morning? Does your mirror and vanity combo leave something to be desired? Or is your old leaky faucet enough to put you in a bad mood?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Aug 22th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Moen.

FIX ME – my bathroom looks like it is having an identity crisis! The counter and border in the shower stall is green marble, but the floor is tera cotta with a very country flower pattern in it. The walls have white wainscotting and the top part is a soft blue color, which sorta compliments the flower on the terra cotta tiles (someone once said the floor tile looks like it came from a mexican restaurant). Worst of all though – the fixtures are flaking gold. It needs some serious help.

FIX ME! We need all the help we can get. We are buying a 1948 home that has only had one owner and very few updates. With one and a half baths the gut plus a kitchen, hardwood floors, windows and painting we have our hands full. Both baths are old dingy and carpeted, YUCK! Add to this a new baby (3weeks) and we are living with my parents. New fixtures would be a blessing. Thanks Moen.

FIX ME! Our shower is so sad. The tiles are discolored, the bathtub is has rust coming through, and the shower head is a little 70’s builder grade thing that has terrible pressure and a often times a high pitch squeal! At least we save water because you can’t stand it for very long!

    FIX ME

I have a bathtub/shower enclosure that rounds all the way overhead to cover the ceiling as well. For some reason, I find it creepy to be surrounded by it like that. Also, it has a lot of holes that have been sloppily patched by the previous occupants. Really, the whole bathroom needs to be updated. The only thing I like in there is the diaper sprayer I installed on the toilet!

The grout in our masterbath is dark and looks like cement. It is very porous and it makes the shower look dirty. We also have cracked tile and are in need of a new medicine cabinet/mirror.

FIX ME! Our entire main bath is in need of a complete demo. The counters are super low, there is white tile halfway up the walls, no shower at all (just a bathtub), late 80’s/early 90’s japanese inspired wallpaper, and the original pink floor tile (which was covered with carpet when we bought the place – ewww!). We have been planning and budgeting for a complete redo and it was supposed to get down before Kid #1 made an appearance this past February. That didn’t happen, so now we are hoping for a second chance this fall before Kid #2 comes around 1/1/13. This giveaway would be HUGE for us!

And while they are totally functional and great, they are desperately needing new fixtures!! The faucets are perma-crusty! So we would looooovvvee an upgrade! :)

FIX ME! All of the bathrooms in my house need some personality. We built our house a couple years ago, however they all are built with builder grade everything – standard vanities and linoleum. I am not complaining because they are new and not cracked and old, but they are definitely not my dream bathrooms.

Everything about our Master Bathroom is pretty much beautiful. Most people who see if audibly gasp when they walk into the room. Except for the shower. The shower looks like it doesn’t belong there. (Poor quality, leaky shower head, terrible water pressure.) I am DYING to update it and this would be the PERFECT head start.

FIX ME! We’re slowly but surely taking our bathroom apart and making it look like it came from this century. We’ve got a lovely, 1950’s mint green tile on all the walls and the vanity is disgusting. We have sad, discolored linoleum flooring. Lots of work to do still.

    FIX ME!!!

Oh do I need a fixin. Our bathroom is dire straights! We knocked down a wall in order to make our bathroom a little bigger so our bathroom is a little messy at the moment. We had to move the plumbing and electrical to accommodate for the added space. Right now I have the bathroom framed and ready for tile (thanks for the tutorials on subway tiling the tub btw https://www.younghouselove.com/2010/01/tackling-the-bathroom-chapter-four/)

So when the hard stuff is done, some lovely fixtures by Moen would look oh so nice!

    Thank You

… what in your bathroom is in the most desperate need of an update? Are you faced with old cracked tiles in your shower every morning? Does your mirror and vanity combo leave something to be desired? Or is your old leaky faucet enough to put you in a bad mood?

While our main bathroom is just slightly outdated, our downstairs bathroom is a wreck. The drop ceiling tiles are styrofoam. Not “styrofoam painted/textured to look nice” – just white boards of styrofoam. The walls are tile…or rather, big sheets of laminate with etched-in tiles nailed to cinder block. The floors are adhesive laminate. The toilet is one inch from the wall on the side and only 11 inches from the wall in front and that space is partially occupied by a PVC pipe that goes from the wall below an uncovered window to the floor to prevent leaks – the toilet is, shall we say, useful for 50% of occasions. There are no electrical outlets. The shower boasts 4″ tile-encased bomb shelter-like walls. The shower floor appears to be uneven cement. Also, the room hosts a boiler. Which sometimes leaks.

It needs work, is what I’m saying.

We just bought our first condo (yay!!) and we’ve spent the last month cleaning, doing repairs, and painting. There’s nothing WRONG with our bathrooms but they’re super boring. We’re getting married in the fall and spending a lot right now on flooring and furniture because we own nothing, so bathroom updates won’t be happening any time soon. New fixtures would totally breathe life into the room :)

FIX ME! I’m embarrassed to say how gross our shower tiles/grout are (we are the third owners of our house, so it isn’t all on us), plus our sinks move around on the vanity, and the drain stopper in my sink has been broken since day two of home occupancy. This give away would be a breath of fresh air for our bathroom (no weirdness intended). :-)
