Fab Freebie: French Swimming

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Well now that we’re more than ready to find a pool to dive into, random.org has picked a winner of this week’s giveaway. The lucky lady is… Cher (who swims about 20 laps each day in the summer). Congrats!

One element in our new kitchen that always makes us smile is the etsy print that we purchased by Samantha French. Remember, the cheery orange and blue painting of the lady swimming (that Clara also sweetly though included some “fishies”)? Well now Samantha is giving you guys a chance to win your very own colorful work of art with a $200 gift certificate to her Etsy shop. So grab your swim cap and bathing suit because that’s enough to snag any of the 16 x 20″ archival prints featuring Samantha’s signature subject matter.

Samantha French Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $200 gift card to Samantha French’s Etsy shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “LET’S GO SWIMMING!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …are you a swimmer? Do you love going to the pool to do a few laps? Or maybe just to splash around (or lounge around)? Or are you and water not friends?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 28th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Worldwide!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Samantha French.

I enjoy a dip in the pool to play with my kids or cool down, but not really a swimming…unless you count doggie paddle.

    LETS GO SWIMMING!

My husband and kids always tease me because despite the fact that we have a pool in our backyard I probably only go in it once or twice a summer. I like the idea of it, just don’t like putting on my bathing suit and actually getting in! Loved it as a kid tho :)

It’s the best part of summer. The best day ever was the afternoon I was the only one at the neighborhood pool and could dive and splash around to my heart’s content without looking silly. Well, at least worrying about looking silly.

    LET’S GO SWIMMING …

I have a complex and confusing relationship with the water. I’m not a strong swimmer, I hate being in water that is deeper than me, I feel most comfortable when there’s an edge I can grab onto … and yet, I am a certified scuba dive instructor and have dived to >30m!

I know, I know … my friends and family collectively shook their heads when they found out. But … my argument is that as a dive instructor I’ve got all the gear to make me super comfortable in the water. A buoyancy vest (to inflate which allows me to float), a tank of air (to prevent me from drowning) and fins (to make me a super fast swimmer when I need to be).

    See? Makes perfect sense ;).

I’m not a swimmer but both of my daughters swim competitively for the Tigersharks Swim Club in MN. One of these prints would be perfect for the bathroom I’m finishing in my 3rd level since it’s main use will be as our pool bath. I love the one with the two people diving underwater. I feel like a stalker today since this is my 2nd post!

I started swimming before I could walk. In high school and college I taught lessons at the local ymca and a day camp. This summer I can’t wait to spend some quality time in the water with my niece (4) and nephew (1) so they can come to love swimming as much as I do. I haven’t seen anything on here about lessons for Clara but she’s definitely old enough I’m sure she’d love a parent/child class!

I’d love to win the $200 gift card since that is what I pretty much owe my parents for the swimming lessons all through out my childhood that went to waste as I can now really only do a back float. :) But give me some sun screen, a magazine, a lounge chair, and a tropical drink and I can sit by a pool all day. No lessons needed!
