I have a completely unrelated question: I bought 2 of your hooks from Target (the light blue octopus and the white bee). I love both of them but I’d like to paint the bee hook gold. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about it??

Love that idea! I would use Rustoleum Universal All-Surface spray paint (it comes with a built-in primer, and in many metal colors like oil-rubbed bronze, silver, gold, etc). Find a gold you like, lay the bee out on a piece of cardboard, and spray it with a few light and thin coats of that until you get full coverage. It held up great on our doorknobs at the last house (with tons of touching/use) so I hope you have the same luck!

Oh, I hope we win!! Our stairs are currently covered in emerald green carpet from the previous owner. Hubby & the kids won’t allow me to pull it up b/c they don’t want just the wood treads for safety factors so I’ve agreed not to tear it up until I can afford to replace it ( which I can’t!) That carpet is hideous!

n my living room, I use Dash & Albert’s Indoor/Outdoor Diamond Rug in Black/Ivory. It’s super easy to clean when my cats decide to puke up their food or a hairball. And the pattern hides dirt between vacuum sessions well.
