A couple of weeks ago we asked our Facebook fans to share pictures of their pets (since we talk incessantly about Burger) and got an awesome response – over 100 photos and links of their four-legged friends (which you can browse right here under Fan Photos). So we figured a giveaway geared towards your pooches (and meowsers) was in order. Enter AllModernPet.com stage right…

One of our dogs is scared of thunderstorms, which we get our fair share of in the Midwest. Whenever it storms he squeezes himself under the bed and sleeps there. Our bed sits low to the floor so he barely has room, but it must make him feel safe & sheltered.

Doggone it my “kids” would love a cute pillow to curl up on (they’ve been kicked off the bed by my husband). When one of my dogs was little he would sleep in the bottom drawer of our armoire! Too bad he’s too big now.

We have a little dog, like you guys. Our pomeranian will sleep in any tiny little space she can work herself into…it is not uncommon to call her name for 5 minutes straight, and look for her all over the house, only to find her wedged behind the sofa (which sits fairly flush to the wall, by the way)! Another favorite spot in under my desk…2 feet away from her comfy bed. :o)

Our lab Leah likes to sleep at various “intersections” in the house – ex, where the kitchen, hallway, LR, and garage meet – so that she can peel an eye open and see all of the action without moving an inch.

I don’t think there’s anywhere my cat won’t sleep. We’ve seen her sleeping on the dining room table, kitchen counter, microwave cart, end table, on top of the tube tv in the bedroom.

My dog likes to sleep on top of my shoes. Tennis shoes, pumps, sandals, boots..she will curl up on them no matter how uncomfortable they are and snuggle them to sleep. SO WEIRD!

I bought a $45 bed for my cat for Christmas two years ago that I was convinced she would love. She hated it. Refused to go in, wasn’t lured in by catnip, hissed when I tried to put her in it. I finally put it on my porch because clearly I had wasted money when she would rather sleep in a box. A year later I brought the bed in, going to give it to a friend who had just gotten a kitten. My cat took on look a it, crawled in, rolled around and fell asleep. She’s slept in that bed every night since. Apparently all things are on her time.

DOGGONE IT! B.B. the beagle sleeps curled up like a normal dog… except when she gets on the couch. Human furniture requires human impersonation, so sofa sleeping requires lying on her back with her legs stretched out straight, snoring loudly.

Our two boxers like to sleep either smack dab in the middle of the bed (it doesn’t matter if someone is in it, either!), sprawled out on the couch, or, my favorite, with their noses on the air vent and their bodies on the only rug in the kitchen! These two are clowns and sometimes we even catch them in the middle of the living room sleeping upside down (on their backs). Gotta love ’em.

My cat Holly’s favorite place to curl up and sleep is right on my chest! Whenever I’m laying in bed reading, watching tv, or online she loves to come up and lay right down on top of me. She will even do it in the middle of the night when I’m asleep. Maybe that’s why I tend to sleep on my side or my stomach! :)

Lucy (our Golden Retriever) prefers the landing on the stairs midway between our first and second floors. She figured out (as a puppy) that she could sneak up there without anyone seeing her from above or below the stairs.

DOGGONE IT! My big old pup likes to sleep on the wood floor when it’s warm out, but with his head on a stair, sort of like a hard, uncomfortable, slightly awkward pillow.

I guess it’s not really that weird, but often he’ll end up sleeping just like a human with his body under the covers and head sticking out on a pillow. He has 3 dog beds, a pillow/blanket on the couch and sleeps in our bed at night so I guess it doesn’t really leave him much opportunity for strange sleeping spots! LOL

DOGGONE IT! My pets find the oddest (and comfortable) places to sleep in the house (wing chair, couch, etc.), but probably the oddest is any open box. The cats will automatically cram into it, no matter how large or small the box is!

Our 110lb yellow lab likes to curl up with his own pillow and blanket by the side of our bed. Usually though, he carries his pillow around the house and whenever he finds a good place to lay, he drops the pillow and puts his head on it. We think he’s brilliant.

What gorgeous beds! Ellie loves to sleep wherever people are and preferably on the furniture or on a bed since she is convinced she is a person and not a dog.
