Fab Freebie: Doggone To Sleep

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

A couple of weeks ago we asked our Facebook fans to share pictures of their pets (since we talk incessantly about Burger) and got an awesome response – over 100 photos and links of their four-legged friends (which you can browse right here under Fan Photos). So we figured a giveaway geared towards your pooches (and meowsers) was in order. Enter AllModernPet.com stage right…

AllModernPet Web Site

AllModernPet.com is just one ofshoot of a slew of sites (like AllModern.com) that offer a wide range of products for us humans too, from Herman Miller office furniture to Murray Feiss lighting. But that pic of the Boston Terrier sprawled out on his dog bed had us at hello, so we present to you an AllModernPet.com pet bed giveaway. One lucky pet parent will win their choice of an awesome easy-on-the-eyes bed so their furry family member can sleep in style (and your pup’s “bedroom” can be as stylish as your own).

AllModernPet Dog Beds

Here are this week’s giveaway details:

  • PRIZE: Your choice of one dog bed from Bowsers, For The Dogs and Harry Barker (Rectangle or Round), any size and fabric you’d like (valued at up to $151).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “DOGGONE IT!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: Tell us about the strange place(s) your cat or dog currently likes to fall asleep. Burger’s got a whole list of weird places and positions that he dozes off in, so we’re sure your pets have some kooky sleeping habits of their own.
  • CONTEST CLOSES: Wednesday, September 9th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One (well, two if you count the winner’s pet)
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA this time (including Alaska and Hawaii)
  • THE USUAL: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Our dog and 2 cats love our front porch. Nothing pleases our cats more than to curl up in our rocking chairs.

Maggie could definitely use a lovely new bed. She is perpetually sleeping on the bed. It is not just on the bed, but under the covers as well. As we are falling asleep she comes up and pulls the covers back with her paws, then settles in. However, once she gets hot (which is about an hour later) she starts flipping up the covers to get out! This bed would be perfect new home for our furry little love.

Our Boston Terrier, Moose, is a big boy at 35 pounds, but he thinks he is much smaller when he climbs into the window sill to take a nap in the sun. He loves to sun bathe and he will make himself fit just about anywhere so that he can catch some rays!

DOGGONE IT! Our 2 dogs just want to be wherever we are…but I find it particularly hilarious when our boy, Val…a large bumbling black lab mix who acts like an old man… beds down in the bathroom trying to fit on the small rug in there when one of us goes in there for a shower! Gotta be that close I guess!

DOGGONE IT!!!! We have 2 LARGE dogs—a Rottweiler named Gambit and an overly-opinionated Siberian Husky named Juno. We recently had to banish them from our bed—sad, but true…it was just too crowded and doggone it…we need our own space sometimes. Currently they both alternate between snuggling up on an old blanket with a nice chew toy or the cool hardwoods..Juno assumed torpedo position (which is her back legs spread eagle with her belly on the floor and her front paws tucked under where you can’t tell she has them)…she also enjoys “Sorority Girl” position—on her back with her legs…well…Gambit sleeps just about anywhere and when Mark and I are both away teaching youngsters during the day, we suspect he climbs into one of the club chairs for a nice, long nap….LOUD SNORING is a must along with his impression of THE FIRE SWAMP from The Princess Bride—let’s just say Rottweiler’s are rarely concerned with their bodily gaseous functions while awake, must less asleep.

We NEED some dog beds…and soon! So, DOGGONE IT would it be great to snatch this freebie!

DOGGONE IT!….my English Pointer falls asleep upside down, and always in a dog bed. She will not sleep anywhere else (unless of course it is a human couch!). She and her “roommate” – a Vizsla named Diego – will even curl up in the SAME dog bed together. On top of each other. Snoring. And occasionally, Aida will share her bed with toddlers…. see here: (scroll down a little in the entry) http://www.photographea.com/blog/2009/8/15/summer-v09.html

My Terrier/Golden retriever rescue dog is a big napper . . . he loves anything that can be interpreted as a cave. Under blankets that have 1/2 fallen off of furniture, behind furniture, or even stuffing his head behind one of our backs that’s leaned up against a sofa or wall (it apparently gives him the mental image that he’s caved in).

Bindi recently fell asleep with her head resting on our paper recycling bin. I was going thru our papers, tossing in what we no longer need and she was curious–then I guess it exhausted her and she just plopped her head on the corner of the bin. She slept until I took out the camera to take a picture.

Maverick likes to sleep in the middle of the kitchen floor, where he inevitably gets stepped on. But it doesn’t keep him from coming back! We also had built-in bookshelves at our old apartment, which were right above the bed. Maverick insisted on sleeping on those shelves, jumping up (and down!) in the middle of the night. He tended to land on our stomachs…
